[h=2]Sanding down the 'filler' coat..[/h]
Once the filler coat has cured 100% - use a 100 grit dry paper to sand it down to achieve as smooth a surface as possible.
Be 'very careful not to sand through the actual cloth - remember that 'another' coat of resin (Gloss coat) is still going to be applied i so any small imperfections can still be filled in....
Keep a constant check on your rocker detail when sanding - you don't want to lose the initial shaping detail ....

You want to get all the bumps and imperfections out of the board as best as possible as after this once you start adding appendages it becomes more difficult to sand. Careful - patient hand sanding will result in that professional lasting finish - this is what will set the board apart !

Do your 'utmost to avoid any contamination getting onto the b

I would still like to see a stud 'in the front' center - that area takes the most abuse !
No worries bro... jet lag and minus temps in the cargo hold would twist anyone... mini bro's foot will twist into position nice.

The center stud hold down has been on my mind forever... leaving the stud drilling/deck drilling trip till last gives me more time to think about it but....

Anyway.... here are some basic pics of Lisa/Bro comparo

Howzit Tunda....glad you are enjoying the vids.... Dont worry ..you are down to third in line n the production line up .will be finished with the current board end of next week - then one for south east OZ - then yours....so not long to go now...there are plenty of Bro vids to watch to keep you Amped !!!...
Will do my best to get your board to you 'before' the the scheduled delivery date...

We have a 3-4 ft ground swell rolling into the bay today !....so hopefully the direction is spot on so I can hook a few 'Big Ones' ....later this afternoon..on the high tide..

I'll try pulling a few classic -"Bertelmann Cutbacks..."...

Have a great weekend !...

PS - please tell your mate if he wants to order a board 'this year' he must do so soon...I'm running out of production time...

Default Do you do anything else ?

Was recently asked: "Do you do anything else but rcSurf ?".... Good question !....I most certainly do ....

One of the many aspects about rcSurfing which I have come to enjoy is that one can fit it into the busy day ..at the drop of a hat. Most other rc disciplines I have been involved in over the years require planning with others - organisation - venues - and - good conditions......usually a fixed schedule conflicting with family plans...making it very difficult.

Get this - I would only get to race my rcRacing boats a maximum of 40 minutes (8 heats) at a monthly race meeting - I have rcSurfed well over four times that amount of time, over this past week - averaging 'twelve' times as much rc time per month - rcSurfing is a winner !

rcSurfing can be enjoyed most anytime - most any ware - most any conditions - - very convenient ! suitable for busy folk.

Myself as an example: Having four very active sporting kids. This weekend the boys had soccer on Friday afternoon - Kids youth in the evening - Saturday morning Girls had ice - skating i - afternoon - Irish dancing contest - Boys had indoor Skate -Boarding - Sunday morning -Boys had Ice - hockey .... - YET - I have had 'four' awesome surf sessions this past week alone....having the family enjoy it with me..that is the bonus !

Ended the weekend off with a fun 2-3 ft face on-shorish session down at Fishoek -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wR5CNwIafZ0 Love the sound track !

Default Progress steps !

The 'detailed description' shared in many of the above steps will be continued in a future e-book - please vote on the poll above to help complete the research whether it would be viable...or to rather spend more time 'rcSurfing'....

UK Board continued: I enjoy sharing the various steps of each build/order process. The clients get to 'sea' and enjoy the progress ....

Finnished off the housing and deflection rim - first coat of resin applied to the rim..

Default Rudder Post

This post needs to be 'well' secured.to withstand the stress's: Good epoxy saturation into the foam needs to be present.
Creating a bigger hole to insert the tube is necessary to ensure a good epoxy bond.
Once the final gloss coat is applied the tube is trimmed down to size.

Default Gloss coating the deck.

Before fitting the hatch cover studs - the deck needs to have its final gloss coat applied.
The gloss coat of resin is applied liberally to fill in any small imperfections on the surface and to add further strength to the rudder post by its build up around the post.

Default Classic rcSurf wave :

Often asked the question about what the ideal wave for rcSurfing would be.This video would be a good example of what I reckon 'my ideal' rcSurf wave is...

Howzit Tunda...Thanks !...appreciated... coming from you..

I am sure it would have scored a 10+......it did for me !.....

Nice size wave.. clean 4 ft face - peeling off very nicely - not to fast - time for a bit of carving - cut backs- peaked for a small head dip barrel - off the bottom - line it up -hit the lip - big clean Rodeo flip - land it !...a cool 20 seconds .......thats rcSurfing....ready to do it all over again !

Totally Addictive !....

Default Drive shaft assembly

at 30 000 RPM - things need to be 'true' to run 'smoothly' - I have resorted to making my own complete drive assembly from the motor coupler down to the dog drive..as most retail components I have purchased inevitably are out of true or of a very inferior quality.

Default Mounts and hardware fitted

First picture shows the rudder tube finished down with the added strength of the epoxy and resin surrounding the neck of the tube.

Motor mount plate is fixed in true position to enable easy refitting of motor when removed for servicing.

Howzit Tunda !..that's a good thing... ....what some do seem to forget is that you do still have to 'surf' these dudes..they don't do it all by themselves...Practice makes Perfect...It will be god for you to be back in the swing of it all for when Bro arrives...so that you can just 'step it up a notch ....

Working 'flat out' at the moment ...will perhaps hit the surf for a quick session to-morrow late afternoon...just to clear my head !
