Hobbico Bristol Bay is Graupner Elke 408
I was looking for ideas on how to add some details to my new boat, and happened upon this site. I wanted to replace the wooden railing with something like brass, or copper.[link]http://www.westbourne-model.co.uk/model-boat-images/Graupner/G19%202127%20hf408.jpg[/link] I have also attached some pics, let me know what you think. This is my first model RC boat, and it is very fun. The coupler (plastic) broke the first day, so I sent Hobbico an email, and they sent me a nice Midwest universal. Much better. The rail looked like dollhouse fence!

These are two completely different boats just modeled after the same type of fishing boat. Plus, the Bristol Bay is fully ready to run for I think less money.

For completely different boats, they have amazing similarities. Lighting, rigging couplers etc. As for assembly, just remove some of the more costly parts ie. railing, bronze & brass fittings etc., and that makes up for price difference. Third world countries would assemble these for next to nothing, which would make them RTR status.
