Would anyone be interested in a 1/3 scale gas (zenoah) Jetski ?
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a 1/3(ish) scale R/C Jetski with a zenoah powerplant and scale jet drive. I'm working on the design now for a roughly 1/3 scale Sea-Doo XP while i'm off work on medical. It will be somewhere in the 40-50" range. I just wondered if this was something other people may be interested in.
Thanks for your comments,
Tim

i think that it will probably be pretty cool. I have seen an rc boat with a jet drive run and it was really cool.

Hummmm ....
Would it hold my 180 pound butt on it and go any decent speeds ?
Seriously ... what kind of price are we talking though ? Might be interesting , but might not . As with anything ... price dictates interests and sales on any new item from a new manufacturer . ( along with quality , of course )

I know MHZ has one, but will all things MHZ its $$$$$.
I think its an awesome ide, but 2 things that are holding me bck from getting one it.
1) The current cost
2) Not knowing how stable they are. I have not seen one run, so I would be afraid of what happens to it when it rolls in a tight turn. Would not want to be hydro locking a zenoah every run

What does the rest of you weigh Bob? Sorry, late night silliness!
Warehouse Hobbies tried making one and only sold about 13 of them so those kind of turned into collectables. They were Homie powered and had the standard prop drive on them.

as you can see.. At over $500 for the hull, then the extra couple hundred for the motor.. Then add on the few hundred for the jet drive.. You are looking at $1k easy for one..
So if you could get the hull down to a $200-250 and the jet drive below $200 then you might be able to build one for $750 and even that is pushing it..
