Ok I am going to be making a RC hovercraft soon. I will be using an impeller for propulsion, and it will have half a kg of thrust, is this good?
Now I am undecided, do you think I should use a seperate power source for the impeller for propulsion and a seperate power source for the engine to fill the skirt? Or should I share the power source?
Another thing I don't know about is the steering. Is it going to work if I steer by rotating the whole impeller?
How powerful do you think my engine for the skirt should be?
I am undecided about the size, but it will probably be about 60cm long and I don't know how wide yet.
Please answer the questions as I do not know about the things stated above.
Thanks in advance, very appreciative to all those who help out

Go to this website and check out all of the models... should really inspire and help you A LOT!
...may take you some time to build though...

Here is a design that I myself built and is a pretty easy one. It includes one motor and prop pushing air into a duct, which splits the air and takes 70% for thrust and 30% for lift
It uses common air rudders for steering and I will post a pic of them if needed.
This design may not be what you are looking for but is a very good start and I highly recomend it ( but it does drain your bataries while in hover though
) Use Lipos!
