HOME. HOME!!
Being 70 and having electronics courses in high school, makes the boat a time machine to me.
THANKS SO MUCH for posting her. Tubes with DC filament heaters.
This looks almost like a early Target Drone control unit that has been adapted to the boat. Early 50's to 60's I worked on stuff like this.
Where has my life gone to ?
Thanks, Rich

First thing i would is carefully take everything out (radio stuff and such). Sell them on ebay as a collecter's item. Secound replace with new r/c equipment, ESC, and motor or two.

Ah, the old A and B batteries. Those were hard to find 20 years ago.

Those boats sure would look neat a major RC get together. Any body behind it would have blisters on their tongue in 2 hours from explaining it.

RE: Any "OLD" Timers out there??
I agree with Mopar,
This is a very nice find and I definitely would not remove anything out of it and really would not replace any of it with todays technology.
This boat is worth a lot more history wise (don't know money wise) the way it is, I too did my electronic study back when everything was still working with tubes.
it may be a difficult task to try to get it going and find original parts, maybe even impossible but I would still keep it original.
Dan.

The "real joy" of this find is gonna be in finding the "phone book/numbers ,and/or deciphering the codes used to make it work....[:-]

thats a beautiful piece of americana, keep it original. Dont remove or replace anything with anything other than a direct replacement. Many places would be very interested in a find like this. Been a few years since I was there but theres a antique toy/hobby display at the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit Michigan. I restored three large dollhouses that my grandmother had as a child (early 30s vintage), donated them to the museum. They were hermaticaly sealed an put on perm. display. Some museums might have an interest or at least be able to give addition information

I agree with the others that say not to change anything. I could see cleaning it up and maybe making some mechanical repairs. I wouldn't even try to put power to it as at the age of the electronics it would more than likely go up in smoke. I would look into some vintage batteries to replace the modern ones. I have some D batteries that I may be persuaded to part with.
