I have had my NTC3 for a couple months now. I must have put nearly a gallon through it already. I recently took the whole thing apart for cleaning etc. I left the engine intact, just cleaned the crankcase. Now when I run the car it always seem to be running WAY to hot. Water sizzles when I drop some on. This is even with the engine spitting out fuel. I have it set very rich and it still seems to overheat, what am I doing wrong? I am very frustrated because after 20 minutes of trying to tune it, I have to shut it down to cool.
Please help!
BTW I use 20% nitro.

Get a temp gun or an on board temp monitor....that water trick was a little too questionable for me...might work for more experienced people but not me.I was running my RS4 3 a bit ago and it seems to be running about 250.

Well if you didnt touch the engine. check for an air leake in the following places:
1) Fuel line cut/nipped/ chaffed endings?
2) Dirt in fuel tank door/hole/leaks otherwise?
3) fuel lines touching exhaust or other hut surfaces?
Sometimes this is possible to miss: Make sure your exhaust feedback tubing is connected!

The last time I took it out I noticed that the fuel got darker and darker as the engine was running. I think crap from the pipe is entering the fuel tank, could this cause the problems too? If so, how would I stop that? Just empty the pipe out?

Your feedback opening on the pipe isnt on the BOTTOM is it?
If it is, all the spent castor will come right back and that will definitely bog down your engine.
Of course.. more oil= cooler engine.
But from what your saying its runnign lean!
I think this may be irrelevant.

I was having problems with some of my engines that have been run for a while. THey were tuned rich but running way too hot. I ended up ripping the engine apart and cleaning it real good insluding polishing all the internal parts. Last I changed the front bearings in the engines and they ran like they were new again. Tons of power and under 230 degree's. I think you have a bad airleak and I bet it will be the front bearing. I will be changing mine every year from now on.

Wait a sec.. I dont understand.
How does the bearing lead to a hot running engine?
The bearing doesnt keep air from getting in or anytrhing like that?!
Or was it just going bad and generating heat?
(that would suck!)
