Default Guessing this is the steering servo

Was driving Nitro Sport today and steering went out. Looked underneath hood and a spring had popped out and looks like a plastic piece might have broke. Should I upgrade this to a 2055 or something? Or can you change the plastic piece without changing the servo?
Edit: Let me also say that Im guessing this is the steering servo. I dont know very much about rc cars yet obviously.

That plastic piece is the steering servo saver. It is made to break so that your servo doesn't. You only have to buy that piece. It's only a couple of dollars at most places and it is an easy fix.

its also possible the screw that hold the servo saver(white thing) came loose. might just need to push it back together and put a new screw in.

If you can see it the little plastic part looks broken to me because it's uneven. What's the easiest way to get to the servo saver? I see a hole leading directly to the saver through the bottom of the chassis. Do you have to remove screws on the chassis to get to the saver or can you just use that hole? The hole is below the 3 screws. Thanks again

You shouldn't have to remove screws from the chassis unless somthing (like a support piece is in the way. You might be able to get to it easier if you turn the wheels one way or the other. Before you put it or a new one back on though, first turn on the electronics so the steering servo goes back to center otherwise your steering will be off.

And Nitrosport is right, if you didn't hit anything and it came loose you may be able to just tighten that one up.

Im confused. I see two seperate plastic pieces. One is connected to the rods that go to the tires. Im assuming these are called turnbuckles. The only way I can see to remove these are screws connected to the "turnbuckles". The other plastic piece is connected to the steering servo itself. Im assuming this is the piece that would have to be removed. Im calling Traxxas tomorrow anyways but I appreciate the help.

you can try to put it back together (spring first then center plastic peice) but to me it looks like the teeth are gone and also see if you can find the screw to hold it to the sevo, if it worked loose, those two halves can seperate.

i have never repaired on of these, but it looks like you remove the top plate to repair it.
