I'm having a problem with my 1 way bearing slipping. I have less than 1/2 a gallon run through the engine using traxxas fuel. I cleaned it the other night and had it running for a few moments before shutting it down. When I went to run it this weekend it was slipping again. Thus making me want to clean the whole engine. I was just going to use carb cleaner. But thought I'd ask here for any other suggestions.

Also any suggestions as to my bearing is slipping so much already would be appreciated

If you search for "top fuel is junk" you'll find a few threads dealing with how bad the fuel is. Switch fuels. Blue Thunder, Odonells, Byrons, Trinity... all good fuel. Traxxas is terrible.

Next: soak your one-way clutch in denatured alcohol and clean/blow out thoroughly. Next, sand the starter shaft on the engine with 400-1200 grit sandpaper to rough it up a bit. Clean it well and reassemble with the One-way clutch going in DRY. Oil makes them slip. Sanding the shaft gives the one-way clutch something to bit into to prevent slippage. Works every time for me.

Excessively rich fuel mixture and/or too much oil in the fuel causes slippage most often. After a LOT of slippage, the shaft gets polished so cleanly that the one-way clutch wont grab well. If this all doesnt work, its time to replace the one-way clutch and starter shaft. Its best to replace both of them since they wear into each other and the tolerances being pretty tight.

Ok thx I'll try that unfortunalty my lhs only carries traxxas. I have found those posts and though that may be the problem guess I hunt down my next closest hobbyshop also may be to rich as this is my first rc car I'm hesitant on leaning it too much guess it all comes with some trial and error worse case k learn how to rebuild a motor rofl

If you take off the air filter and just spray WD40 through the hole but hold the engine so the WD40 runs to the one way bearing you'll get grip back on your one way bearing without taking any thing appart.
