Default Servo Question

I have these 2 Jammin CRT .5. The kits had everything except motor and servo's and anything else that Ifind I am missing as i build them.

What servo's do I need for the steering and throttle. There are so many options, I have the Spektrum ones that came with my radio's (200S), will these work? I also have a Futaba 3003 that i can pilfer from another vehicle.

When would I use a high torque or a high speed servo? What is best for these applications?

Agreed. You will step up to more expensive servos when you have to.

When looking for servos, typically what do you want high torque vs high speed.  Which is for throttle and which for steering.

Default RE: Servo Question

Generally, speed is for throttle/brake and torque is for steering. But many use the same torque servo for both throttle and steering. This makes buying or having spares easier. Years ago, when people started running the CRT.5 in my area, they were blowing out steering servos all the time. Reason - they were nylon or composite geared servos. Buy the brand of your choice, but always go for metal gears.
