Hi let me tell you a bit about my truck. My father brought a savage x4.6 hpi about 3-4 years ago and broke the spur gear (the inside melted) and he just put it back in the shead and left it it had only done 3ltrs of fuel at the time. Anyway I brought it off him about a month ago and started building it here is a list of changes ( new aluminum clutch, new 47thooth spur gear, new a5 glo plug, fuel filter) I run it on 25% glo-max cb. Anyway now to my problem! I started it up yesterday and it took a little to get going as that would be the first time in 3yrs and it just took off with a massive wheelie. Later to discover that the throttle is stuck at 1/4 and when you break it cuts it right back to idle. Is there any way I can fix this? Any help will be MUCH appreciated. I am 14 years old and have always been interested in rc and just picked up a savage x a month ago. Also what fuel do you guys run/ recomend?

If so,then its just a simple throttle adjustment, maybe on the throttle trim of transmitter,or throttle
linkage.
This maybe what burnt the spur up,an also cause premature wear on clutch shoes.

When you let off the brake positiion on the controller, does it go back to high rev on its own?

Your carb could be set too far open.the slide barrel that opens an closes,is supose to be set at about 1mm
open,or the with of a paper clip wire.
The servo horn also may not be centered.
The best thing to do,is to take off the throttle linkage at the ball joint on the carb.
With your finger, push the throttle to the closed position, when you do,see how far it closes. There
should only be a gap the size of the paper clip,if not, then adjust the idle set screw,an set the gap.
Once that is done.Turn on your radio gear, find the throttle trim on transmitter, then turn the trim knob
or push button to center the servo.Once centered, put servo arm back on,while doing so,make sure
that the slide barrel of the carb stays closed as you push the servo horn back on.
Work the throttle on trans,an see if the barrel closes back on its own...
