Default Rc cars first timer

Hello everyone!, I'm a knob at this, my brother in law is a rc nutjob and he has been very generous to pass on to me a great car, Inferno mp777 o.s. speed by Kyosho, it comes with a lot cool features and custom parts already but of course it needs a lot work, hopefully I can learn from those of you who have dedicated the time for this great hobby, just saying hello to the community, thunder.

I've moved this thread to the RC Car forums where it's more likely to get a good answer.

Woah! One heck of a buddy you got there . As far as I can see, it needs an engine (obvious), and radio gear. Everything else looks pretty good!

Thank you Collector yes , now the the question is what engine and radio gear to get , I have no idea about brands and what is best, of course I would like to keep up with the existant parts , I also need a remote control as well.

That is a beauty. I recommend the Hitec Lynx 4S for a radio. You can get some really high speed response from that unit and it is so comfortable. Some have said the most comfortable feeling trigger in the industry. I see a temp sensor loop wire sticking up! Is that connected to anything? Usually plugs right into the receiver. I would go with the Proton receiver because it will give you enough channels and the GPS built in plus plugs for that temp sensor. Many have moved to the Hitec and love it. Adam Drake uses it exclusively. Engine, It depends on if you are bashing or club racing or what? If you are just bashing, get a decent .28 in that thing and you will have massive torque and plenty of speed. Put a .21 in it and you will be able to race in most clubs. I like OS engines, but pricey. I like Axial engines, but you can only order them from China and they are pull start. Do you have a starter box also? What else came with the car?

Hi mastter1971! Thank you for the info, what you see on the pics is what I've got to work with, I do not think I will have time to join any club (not totally out of the equation), so far I was hoping to get it going and build a small track on the backyard for starters, thank you for the info and I will be looking at the suggestion you posted.
