you need to wrap the receiver in a ballon. and thats about it. the servo is water tight. so thats nothing to worry about. The ESC need air to work. so you cant put a ballon on that. Mostly the Receiver is the only thing you need to worry about. as long as your driving with a body on. and not tying to get snow inside the car your good!
I hope that helps!

I was gonna write something but I noticed you had a E-MAXX and not a T-MAXX. So the balloon trick is all you need for the E-MAXX.

Well, the good side is that the chap obviously is well meaning.

Anyways, the REAL winterproofing for an E-Maxx is simple (Take it from someone who lives in snowy scandinavia):

- Rubber ballon for the receiver. Tamiya part no 50194.
- M'tronics Super E-Truck ESC. It's waterproof, unlike the kit supplied Novak thingie. http://www.mtroniks.net/whatsnew.htm
- Steering servo? Well if you insist, open it and seal the printboard with a spray can plastic sealant (Bostic Plastic 70, I think) and fill the pot-meter with Tamiya Switch Lube (no 87023). Or you can leave the servo alone, it will last a good time in water before it fails.

And no, I don't have an E-Maxx. I have a Tamiya Wild Dagger. Also twin engined but (slightly :-) less brutal. Therefore I can manage with the less expensive "truck" ESC.

as long as you run 2 packs and let it cool, just cover the whole top of the chassis with seran wrap or a shower cap. It has enough air inside to keep the evx cool for a while, plus it gets covered in snow anyway which keeps it nice and cool
