Okay - Last week, i seemed to be having some engine problems towards the end of a bashing day with the RZ(VO1B). Figured it was nothing, so i took it home. The problem was that it seemed to be running excessivly rich at idle. When home, i took the carb apart and cleaned everything, made sure nothing was damaged, and put it all back together. reset the needles to 2 1/2 turns out for the HSN, and 1 1/2 turn in from flush for the LSN. Now, when i started it up, same problem. As long as im running, plenty of power, a bit rich on the HSN, but not too bad. come down to slow speeds though, and no acceleration. Bogs down like the LSN is too rich, and at idle it will stall. Through continued tests, i have now leaned the LSN an additional 2 full turns, with no change in engine behavior. Still stalls at idle, still sounds super rich. any ideas?

Well, did you change the pipe to I silenced pipe, because that has the power to make your engine lose power. If not I don't know and Im sorry I could'nt help!

could it be your clutch? i read an artcle that said if the clutch spring were weak the clucth engages before the engine can get into its power band and the result is that the engine bogs when the clutch engages and it makes the engine seem like it is running rich when it is not. i may be wrong but check that angle out and maybe thats your problem. good luck and how did you get to me a moderator?

I had a friend with an airplane engine do something similar once. It turned out the low speed needles O-ring was no good, and the low speed was "adjusting itself"...So much so that it had worn the seat area around it and would make it next to impossable to adjust...Or, if that's a 3 needle carb. it might be the "3rd" adjustment? Or is that just for the mid range?

hi all, kind of the same problem here..for the last 3-4 times i took my truck out (nitro rusty pro-.15) i could not get it to idle down low enough. it was trying to drive it self it was that high.
last night i took it to the track for the first time and in adjusting every thing i could think of, the battery's went completely dead. after replacing them with new i had to re-adjust everything back to where it was and all was fine...
being new i dont know if this is common or not just thought i would put it out there..
had a great time at the track ... spooner [8D]
