Default RC find!!!!

I was cleaning out my mothers garage today, she is moving out of state and told me to come get all my childhood things. I found an old R/C truck I completely forgot about. I had purchased it with hard earned money around 13 years ago(im 26 now). I never did get the money saved up to go back for the remote and the servos. I now have a 5 year old son begging me to find a remote and servo kit so we can build it together. It has never even been removed from the box before.

Now My thoughts are should I ebay it or find the parts. If I did find the parts how much would they set me back. If I decide to sell just the kit how much should i expect for it in brand new like condition.

The kit in question is an Kyosho Model No. 3162h Outlaw Raider ARR

Any info on this kits value or links to places that I can get the remote and servo kit from would be greatly appriciated.

Found a photo of my kit online here is what I have. I believe I need a radio servos and battery to complete it.

Default RE: RC find!!!!

Just dug in the box some more found a remote manual. Maybe the kit they wanted to go with this. it says the kit number for the radio and servo is W4c-3sn fm.

This kit should contain:
transmitter NET-B124 fm
Receiver NER-327x
Servo NES-507 x 3

Any help locating this kit would be great!!

It should'nt be to hard to find a Radio, receiver, and servo's to run it. Some radios come with servos and a receiver. However you could look around Ebay to get a cheap radio and all you will need fairly cheap. That is a pretty good Outlaw you have I had one of those and the Nitro version Outlaw Rampage. Well good luck and I would probably keep hold of that you don't find those in that kind of condition to much anymore. And as far as the recomended parts in the manual Im not sure if those exact parts would be available anymore.

{EDIT}: Oh, and as far as value goes you have to take into account that it is 13 years old and never run. So if you should ebay it there might be someone wanting it for there collection. Later

If you go to towerhobbies.com, you can pick up a radio for under 50.00
Batteries and anything else you would need...
like the other guy said it might be worth more than you think on ebay

Dude....Just about any remote will work. the standard servos that come with basic remote is all you will need.
you obviously just want to have fun....you dont need a HI quality remote to do that.
A truck that is 10 years old and in mint cond......worth well over 100.00
Have fun!!!!!!

OK I got the remote and servo thing figured out. Now i need a battery for this thing. Can the battery power both the reciever and the motor so I don't have to run 12 AA batterys. Just 8 in the remote. I can see this hobby being another money pit ;-).

Another note I have a tendency to over do all my hobbys. If i keep it and get a remote and battery I'll eventually want to trick it out convert it to 4 wheel drive and beef up the motors. Imma sucker for more power and more noise. I spend enough money on the 74 impala im in the middle of restoring ;-).

Any links on how to convert a 2 wheel drive electric 1/10 truck to a 4 wheel drive truck. Im hooked and in it full speed ahead.

P.S. I just got done putting the kit together. I'll I have to do know is order the remote and battery. the manuel says it need 7.2 volts.

2wd is faster than 4wd.... if you must drop money into it make it int a brusheless monster with GP3300s and then you could toss shorter pinned tires on it for harder tracks. paint the body up nice. etc

Proline ( www.prolineracing.com) makes an Escalade body.

Btw if you're in it seriously now [>:], put some wide bumpers on that thing and give it to your kid stock and get yourself a nice electric Stadium truck or 1/10 Buggy [>:].

And sorry, it is very hard to turn any 2WD into a 4WD (unless it is mede for it...but there's only one vehicle Ive ever seen that was made for that...and its only like a year old).

This was no cheap truck when I got it. Should be plenty for me for a while. found all the parts I need at a local hobby shops websight. Including the escalade body.

Gonna run the stock body when the son is at the controls.

By the way here is the stick I picked out. Its not a name brand but it is FM and you guys said FM is better then AM.

If it is a bec reciever, then you can eliminate the on board AA's and just run it off of the 7.2v pack.

P.S. Some how the speed control rod has ben lost. The guy at the shop gave me some piano wire and told me how to make one with some needle noes plyers. If this does not work he said I can always convert it from manual speed control to electronic.

For another 50-60$ for the electric speed control kit!

Any benefits in doing this in the long run. This guy almost sounded like he was on commission. Tried to sell me on converting. I dropped about $130 today. Not bad considering what all I got. MSRP on the remote and servos was $119.99 they where asking $99.99 for it. I also got the battery and charger some servo mounts, paint and an escalade body kit. ;-) They never saw this Electronic Sales man coming I know the commission game.

And Yes RayRay it is a bec reciever so I dont have to run the second battery pack.

Well Update time. I ended up with a 2pl Radio and 2 3003 servos. I also converted the speed control to a fatuba mc230. Have had alot of fun lately. Even found a second truck new in box for spare parts pretty cheap. Having a blast. Looking into upping the engine soon. any suggestions.
