Ok, I was wondering how all of the younger people(15-18) do stuff financially?
I mean, I am 16 and I have a full size 1:1 car. My parents say "If you want to drive, you have to pay for insurance". For a year of insurance it will cost me $3,000 dollars. (Mind you I live in Miami, Florida.....so its going to be expensive)
I also have 2 RC cars.
So how do all you people do stuff, do your parents give you money?or what?

when i was 16, 5 years ago, i bought my own car, paid for my own insurance, had a dirt bike and played paintball with my own stuff every weekend and bought another new dirtbike when i was 17. i dont say those things to brag at all but moreso to let you know you're not the only one and that it can be done.
it's just a matter of having a good, honest work ethic and really wanting something bad enough fo go bust your ass for it.

I worked every summer and winter since the age of 14, pay for my own RC but looking to get a 1:1 size car next year so hopups for my Rc and other expenses are on hold.
It just feels better when you know that you paid for it cos you worked for it and thats the reward..there is a certain pride knowing something is just yours[8D]

I am 14 and I bust my ass when I really want something. When I'm old enough to work I won't have to bust my ass so much to get what I want.

We aren't rich, we aren't poor, we're average. I get 100$ pocket money a month and what ever else I want I gotta work for it. Remember this is canadian money.

my parents are upper middle and they paid for half of my 1:1car which cost 6,000. I saved since i was 12 about 1,000 and haf a job during the summer and made another 1000. My grand parents and stuff gave me money for my birthday and i put all the money i had toward the car. my parents do pay for insurance, but if i get into an accident or get a ticket i pay the difference in the insurance increase. Been lucky so far.
The wat ihave spending money is from birthdays and cristmas i get sevral hundred from family, from there i dont buy stupid crap, I don't buy the coolest pair of shoes or **** like that. I also research what im going to buy and get the best price. I buy nothing on impulse. I waited 3 months after deciding i was going to buy a deck for my car, And i had only a radio for my first 6 months driving.
I spend a lot of oney on rc cars, paintball and othe hobbies. but im smart about my money and makesure i have some extra just in case.....

I'll tell all you young'ns one thing... buy everything NOW for your RC. I'm 29, married with 3 girls, 6,3,and 4 months. It took an act of Congress for me to spend the $200 on my used Duratrax Axis shoulda paid $50. Since then I read up on other buggies like Ofna, Hyper, etc. The Kyosho is like $700+ !!!!! My question is, how the hell are you guys buying these $500 cars, then $200 engines, then $250 radios?!?!?!?!? All I know is that 8 years ago, I'll bet I'da had a Kyosho or a Hyper, but now.... I'm stuck with my Axis
[
]. Take my advice, if your hardcore into RC make sure you spend all you $ NOW!!!!
