I have used the MTroniks plane ESC in mine. Can give details if you want of what I thought. For now I am going to go play some games with the kids. Yes they work, but have to get used to the throttle.

I assumed there would be some differences in the throttle/brake settings, just didn't know how much different it would be. Anything's worth a try, right?
This was more of a way to help a friend who needed to get some quick funds right before christmas than anything, but I hope that I can make use of it.
It should at least be workable in my rc10l speed car. I can always put the schulze in another car that I plan to use for more 'driving' applications.
Any feedback that you'd like to share is appreciated, though!

As for using plane controllers - the answer is yes you can but some will not work at all with wheel radios. The MTroniks do work with wheel radios which is cool for me. I do also have a stick radio, but not a good one. My good radio is a Futaba 3pk black version.
Getting used to the throttle on a plane controller will be the hard part. Planes are a completely different bread - you push on the gas to give it go and then you let off and want to imediately go again. Sometimes you have to wait till the motor stops before it will go again. just how they work. other than that it is cool and inexpensive way to get things done.
That has been my experience so far anyway. I have a another one that I will be trying in a car - It is MTroniks 40amp plane controller. I am trying to figure out what car to try it in and what will I run with it. Good stuff.

OK, I got my nitro evader BX up to 39mph today, but something is deffinately wrong with my engine (I think its needs rebuilt, that or its just junk) becasue it gets up to full RPM then you can here it slowly drop RPM's once it tops out.
Sadly, radaring with one hand and driving with your other doesnt work too good. I had it going down the road WOT and wasnt paying attention, a car came around the corner and I freaked out cause it was about to get ran over so I gave it full brake and it spun out crashing into the curb (didnt get ran over though
)
Surprisinglly, all it broke was a shock ball joint thing (which I have spares of), it bent up the top fin on my (reletively) new blue cooling head and scratched it up pretty badly but I can live with that.

almost forgot to do this... I ran the rustler 10t trinity and with police radar gun... lying on the ground comming straight towards gun ran 36 mph........ I don't remember the gearing, but I probably could try another day to see if I can gear it to 40mph.....I need to get better tires for this... running proline holeshots but they don't like blacktop.......no traction.... truck wont track straight, rear all over the place...

Well I figured out why my nitro evaders engine wasnt working good, its the throttle servo (it wont keep the carb all the way open, it opens it up but then its like the servo doesnt have enough torque to keep it open), apperently all the spilt fuel is getting to it
Oh, and we radared my uncles RC10GT, it hit 36mph.
And I got my mini-t up to 19mph, but its setup for wheelies and the battery pack wasnt fully charged. Today ill mess with the gearing and see how fast I can get it.

I have a Nitro evader st, aluminum hop-ups on order but No performance mods other than new teflon-sealed bearings for the front wheels, and after some fine needle tuning, A cop clocked it at 40.1mph but that was much more lean than I usually run and I made it richer again after the speed test.
