See the old cox shrike- there's always some pics of them on ebay. The shrike had a roll bar over the prop and the pusher engine was mounted so the prop just missed the ground, so it was as low as it could be. The shrike was a teather car that just buzzed around a nail in the pavement, might be a good way to test your giant .40 car..

Well, I'm going out for one last run with the Baja Bandit. The only thing i'm going to miss is the body. But i can use that on other things.

I just met IBrake at the park. The Car didn't even have the dignity to work one last time. It just sat there, not feeding power to the reciever. Now I feel even better about converting it into my PPC. I've almost given up on electric completely. But the wheels look cool.

If you've given up on electric, why is it in the electric forum? Just pointing that out.

And about those wheels...they do look cool compared to your old ones.

Only if it was downhill, I have all 4 wheels but no power at all. The engine is gone.

i saw a propellered car with angine and everything go on ebay a few weeks ago for like 20 bucks. the said it was more than 30 years old and alot of it was made of wood. the engine was mounted in the center of the car on a frekin block of wood and the steering looked like set wheels or funny car wheels with a direct servo sytsem. you could try it but you would probably be dissapointed with it performance. josh

Oooo...better watch out...I upgraded to a Futaba ball bearing digital steering servo that has a whopping 2 more oz/in. of torque [X(]....Now all I need to do is wait for that S3305 high torque MG servo...

Tomar=good. No PPC, rear swingarms are to short, need new longer ones. Car looks like it's hooking up while sitting still wen gas in tank. Still need to build breaking system, don't have enouph parts. I need kind of pully system to controll my throttle, Does anyone think/know it possible to have like a steel cord attached from the carb throttle to the servo. I see no problems but if anyone knows any please tell me thanks. I need torque servos too, you reminded me Mr. Brake.

YES. Exactly. now i just need some longer arms and some pullys. Fiberglass Is new to me, but I'm now using it to build the engine mount and compartment. I Need Advice: Where to put the tank? Behind the engine? under the engine? on top? I think it'd be best to have it right underneath parrallel but i'm worried that the carb won't be able to pull enouph gas. Is this an irrational fear?

Behind the engine would be best...if not, underneath.

BTW, you have a PM.

BTW, you know how you're so worried about downforce?

Look what I did to my Rusty for the speed run tomorrow (well, I'm worried about drag)

School Started. I still need to rig a braeking system. I need longer rear arms and longer doggy bones. Need pullies and cable. My engine mount is built, and soon to be covered in Fiber Glass.

Opinion time for thos of you with opinions. Forward mounted engine with standered prop or rear mounted engine with pusher prop.

the way I see it:
Forward engine will give me better gravitational center and reduce wieght in the back so I don't have to compansate for as much with downforce.
Pusher Engine would make for easier starting, easier adjustmants to compansate quickly and I'd be able to mount the gas tank in a better position.

IF these ^^ are wrong I don't mind being told. What do you people think?
