just wondering if this worked for future refrence
fill up the pipe with water (making sure your finger tip is covering the stinger so water doesnt leak out) and putting it in the freezer. The water inside will expand and pop out the dents

In theory it should work if you seal everything up tight & sturdy enough to where it wont try to expand through one of the openings in the pipe.

Why don't you do the tried and tested method of sticking a screw driver in the stinger and working around the pipe, easing out the dents.

I have heard this method works, except the guy I know who did this used coca cola soda. He said it made the dent smaller but didnt eleminate the problem completly.

you also risk rupturing the pipe completely, so keep that in mind. are you willing to trade a dent for a completely destroyed pipe?

the water will never freeze with the door open

It will only work if you crawl in the freezer too
the water will never freeze with the door open

I think he meant to say to seal both ends of the pipe before putting it in the freezer, although i could just imagine someon in the freezer with a pipe stuck to their hand! Well, you've got to suffer for your hooby!

OOOh,,thanks
I've done it a couple times
It kinda works but doesn't completely cause the pipe get to it's origanal shape
you'll still have it dented a little, but better than nothing.
just seal up the pipe while holding it under water,,then you'll know there is no air inside the pipe

He he.... I slammed my R40 against a corner of a concrete brick, (on the side of the pipe) and my THS racing pipe was totaled. The stinger was flattened to the side of the pipe where that same side was "one" with the other side of the pipe and bent like a squashed banana. As it was still hot I managed to slightly straighten the stinger and round-up the hole again. After using the "freeze" method I managed to bring my pipe back to working condition. It still has some slight bends in it and some dents but the pipe works fine.... It took me 3 days to fix it though. Freeze, unfreeze, refill and freeze again. After that was done I worked my pipe again and while it was hot I worked on it with a screwdriver and some needlenose pliers to set the header pipe back to normal. Good as new
Yup, the method works, just make sure to seal the openings and check on the pipe every so often to not rupture it...
