hi, a question for you experienced rc'ers out there, i am baffled/stumped. need help please ..
i was running my trinity reflex nt in the local carpark the other day, when it decided to runanway bounce into a curb at full throttle, only then to turn and head for the opposite curb , when hitting that curb amazingly enough it done the same thing and bounced 180deg and headed back for the first curb again , this time the impact knocked the engine out of alighnment with the spur gears and shredded the first gear, knocked the wheels out of the hubs, which snapped them both on the front , bent the chassis . broke the plastic around the front bumper. and thats what i noticed on the day , i havent inspected it properly yet,
now i could put this down to the batts in the reciever being low , but i am 100% sure they were charged , i only had one run before this and i charged the bats fully before i went out , its a good battery aswell and practically new new . i have a failsafe on it . so , i dont know what it could be ,
had it not been for the losi lst i decided to bring with me at the last minute , i woud have been packing up to go home , so i took that out and decided to tune it up as i had only just finshed running/breaking the engine in, now i felt confident running the losi cause the radio is totally different from the one i was using in the trinity, i am using the one that came with the losi cause it is FM and pretty good . but as soon as started running it, guess what, the same thing happened it went of at full throttle, and cos its a truck the curbs are not stopping it , and this carpark is big,
i started chasing it , only to catch it about 500 yards down doing circles cos the wheel had come of where the the front drive shaft had snapped. i was struggling to shut the engine of cos the fuel line is so close to the engine and the engine is at full rev's. the pipe was to hot to touch with my hand luckily there was some cardboard from a box close by so i grabbed that and held it over the pipe and it stopped ,
apart from scracthes and that i think the snapped cvd was the only damage , i hope the engine is ok tho after revving up like that !! it wasnt set to lean tho ,, now on this truck i dont have a failsafe fitted but it has a throttle return spring as standard , so i thought the failsafe wasnt needed. any way this also happened to another guy that was there, i dont know what his situation was tho batts charged , failsafe, trs, etc ,
any1 got any idea,s why this could have happened ?
two different radios ! both charged ... could this have been someone interfering with the radio on purpose ? i know its mad but thats all i can think of ..i had a sort of argument with a truck driver who wanted to park right were we run the cars when there is a massive carpark thats empty .maybe i'm being paranoid . its really put me off running the cars for a while , untill i make sure this wont happen again anyway ..
cheers sonik.

At my house my electric cars go haywire when they get near the lightpole down the road, theyll take off WOT whichever direction they feel like going in (usually straight towards the nearest curb LOL). One day my TC3 did the same as your Reflex did, hit one curb then turned around and hit the other [:@].
I havent really had the problem with my nitro cars, but then again It doesnt happen every time with my electrics either.
This is with both FM and AM radios.
Im stumped as to what is really causing the problem, I can only assume it must be the lightpole cause they go nuts as soon as they get within 20 feet of it.
I dont think the trucker couldve interefered with the FM system, the AM maybe, but I doubt he'd have known that his equipment could cause interference.

Hmm if you have the failsafe. it should had gone to CT at the first hint of interference or a low batt situation.Maybe your paranoia with the truck driver might be real.He could have his radio on his truck scanning channels on 27 , 40 and 72 . Which could confuse your rc receiver.. maybe i'm not sure. The radio sends out signals and your reciever picks it up which maybe the failsafe didn't kick in.. Maybe somebody with a radio scanner can try this test if failsafe screws up when someone is doing this?
Caus since you were not alone there having the problem it has to be intereference in that sector.Did you saw any signs of glitching... even minimal ones not just the MJ ones? while at idle?

same prob but mine is totalled. if you think about it the throttle return spring wont do anything cause if you are using it then the servo is not affected buy it unless it is off. but if the throttle was open then that must be because the servo is doing that. hope you understand what i mean
