sorry I don't know the answer to your question.....I have a clutch question too.
How do you know if the clutch shoes are bad? They were white and now look a burnt brown. When I open the throttle the engine revs up but the truck only moves very slowly.....I'm hoping it's the clutch because it's the easiest/cheapest thing to replace - but other than it being brown I don't see any difference in how it looked before.
Any suggestions for what the problem could be?

if it takes alot of throttle to get the truck moving, then i would say that it is the shoes, replace them and that should fix your problem

I think I found my problem....
The roll pin that latches onto one of my rear wheels broke....I just got new wheels/tires and when I put them on I must've over-tightened them and broke that pin.
As for your question, are you sure you mean spring - and not shoes? Mine doesn't have a spring....the shoes on my RC10GT face clockwise - meaning the pin is on the most counterclockwise side and the rest of the shoe faces the clockwise posistion.
