you buy a spool to replace the sock gears. or you can pack the diff with grease to get a limited slip effect

...or fill it with Epoxy resin (permanent)
...or fill it with silly putty (temporary)

a locked diff in the front gives you more steering

but a locked diff in the REAR gives you less steering. rcmaster said he has removed the front wheel drive.

i had read in a previous thread that someone used candlewax to lock their diff. this would probably be cheaper than sillyputty but just as temporary.

im pretty sure i answered this same ques from maybe one of u in this thead. Basically a front locked spool gives u alittle bit less off power steering and maybe a speed decrease(usually entering the corner or a turn) However u accelerate through and out of the turn/corner faster than a diff. Also u get the advantage of breaking still unlike the front one way. Front one ways allow u to jus cruise through a turn using no breaks which gives ur car max speed outa the turn. However its more sutable on larger turns and sweepers and is hard to learn to use if u used a diff sometimes also no breaks...jus spin outs. A front spool would give u some of the performance capabilities of the one-way with out the trouble but give u breaking ability up front which wont give u spin outs. I personally run a solid spool i made for my car.[8D]
