Hi people!
I used to own a 1/8 kyosho inferno maybe 6-8 years ago (or more??).... i just viewed some videos and i'm gettting that tingly feeling again to buy another one! (I sold mine).
What's new these days? the cars these days seem to 'look' the same..but i'm sure allot has changed in the past 5-8 years!
I'm curious, what is popular these days:
electric cars?
1/10 nitro?
1/8 nitro?
car versus trucks?
I'm just looking for a general answer, my guess is that 1/10 gas trucks are the most popular thing out there....comments?

well, the HPI RS4 3 EVO is a 1/10th Nitro on-road car and it is very popular.
The HPI Savage is a popular 1/8th Nitro Monster Truck (very durable)
And no i dont think that the 1/10th trucks are the most popular these days, i would guess the most popular where probably the Nitro Monster trucks (HPI Savage,Traxxas T-Maxx, Traxxas REVO, and many others)

I see, thanks for the updates.
I hope I don't offend anyone, but are people still interested in the non-gas vehicles? It is an old-timer/traditionalist type niche now or what? I can't imagine electric being 'mainstream' anymore with all the exciting of a puff of smoke and the cool sounds of nitro! (again, not a flame i'm just trying to get back in touch heheh)

I would definently say that Nitro has gained alot of popularity and is more popular voer electric, but electric is straing to come back, and i think the brushless motor has definently helped electric. I know guys who are used to pure-race 1/10th on-road racers and are no buying 1/10 buggies and trucks and putting Brushless motors in them.
I personally race but Nitro On-road but i too am buying a 1/10th buggy and putting the Neo/Reedy brushless motor in it.

I agree Nitro is nice I have a traxxas nitro Jato. Since I goto work at 4:30 pm and get home at 4:00 am It would be nice to have a Brushless off road unit to run when I get home. If you are not in to Tuning you should look into Electric. Hope this helps Good luck with you choice.

Well quick update.
Electrics are getting faster and better as brushess motors are becoming capable of pushing cars up too about 65 mph, ON BATTERIES.
Lipo batteries are coming in.
Nitro cars have become amazing too. But since you are saying you got the inferno, since then there have been MANY updatees to it.
in order
kyosho inferno
kyosho kanai
kyosho kanai 2 (i have this 1)
Kyosho kanai 3
Kyosho 777
Kyosho 777 sp1
and the brand new 1
kyosho 777 sp2.
All amazing.
If you want more details go to out 1/8 scale buggy forum.

Electric cars seem to be getting less durabal but getting alot faster, nitro has alot of people in it right now but will probaly go down with the very high price of nitro fuel.

Did they ever get the 111 mph approved as an official record? I wish I could find it but I read and article where I think maybe in Sweden where they did a top end speed race and I think it was 116 mph of coarse they had it in kph. If I can find it I will post it. Does not matter as all I can say they have them hauling A**. How much is 111 mph to scale? Would it be 10x111?
Thanks for the web site.
