I have been looking for a pull sled for a while... I see them on e-bay every once and a while but it seems like they show up only when i dont have the money for them.
and I have seen some people do "drags" with monster trucks... just like the full scale. start.. quick hop over a small jump.. turn around a pylon then over a set of "cars"

RE: RC Drag Racing
Circut racing and drag racing, in my opinion, take the same amount of skill. In circut racing, you can develope a groove or flow on the track, which I'll admit isn't easy to get but once you get it, yer good to go. In drag racing, you don't have time to develope a flow. You have to know yer sh*t before you even hit the starting line, you pretty much have to invision yourself going from start to finish in a heart beat, one screw up and yer toast! With circut however, you can mess up a couple times and you can still win the race, though it would make the race a little more "interesting". I'm not dogging on drag or circut, I just think that each one has easy aspects and hard ones in eaqual shares.

RE: RC Drag Racing
People that say drag racing is a no brainer are not drag
racers. Real "drag racers" are just that, for life. Knocking
the quarter mile is like putting down Jesus. Drag racers
are usually the most friendly and the most sportsman like
of any automotive arena. Being a drag racer requires the
entire spectrum of skill. It is 90% preparation. There is no
second chance. You have to be an expert mechanic/tuner/
and driver all at the same time to be competitive. You have
to know your competition and the track. No skill you say?
You will be one of those we call "asleep" at the light. You
probably think Baseball is boring also. Drag cars are indeed
the ulimate hot rods.

My brother drag races in real life back in the US. It is a lot of skill that goes into it. I hear the sotries of the other drivers cars and stuff from him. Very intense - Kind a rush at same time though. I don't know of anywhere around here that has drag races.

RE: RE: RC Drag Racing
Whats all the debate about?? Why even compare drag racing to touring car racing. I thought the whole idea of both were to be the best you can be... see the result of your car setup and tuning, enjoy some exhillaration, get your adrenaline going and most of all have some fun.
I love both for what each type of racing gives you... the skill and precision driving of touring and on-road racing is great but you rarely hit top speed unless youre on a huge track. And I love the absolute rush of punching the throttle and going full speed.
By the way Im trying to make a staging light and timing setup with interface to a laptop using lasers and phototransistors. I have the phototransistors working fine but I need an electronic diagram of a staging light... any help with a link would be appreciated.
FastCar... nice rail and FC.

My view on drags - Anyone can drive fast in a straight line, but it takes a skilled driver to drive around corners and curves fast on a real track.

Everyone has their likes and dislikes. Leave it at that. No need to bash what another member likes, if you don't like it move onto a different post.

RE: RE: RE: RC Drag Racing
driving fast in a straight line with drag racing is wayyy harder than you think, lots of things have to go just right for it to go straight a run a good pass.

I've been drag racing for about a year and a half, so I know most of what has to happen for a drag car pass to go right!!!!
Thanks man.
