Does anyone know much about servo wires/plugs. I'm making this custom car and I can only use a motor for the turning for certain compatability (is that a word?) reasons. Could I use the wires and plug from a servo and connect them to a small motor?

They're way too thin - they'd heat up and melt, you need much thicker ones to safely supply the current required by a motor.

but there are three wires for the servo and two for the motor (the motor is very small, the wires are the same size)

As long as the wires are the same gage and the ends are the same size, you should be OK. Seems weird that a motor would take the same gage wires as a servo though...

I truly understand your question... the answer is NO
You can not control a motor by simply hooking it up to a reciever...
if somehow you could make a larger circuit board and hook the motor up to that then to the reciever THEN you would be able to use that motor to stear your car

If you hook up the red and black servo wires your motor will just run continously at 6v the third wire is signal. Servos an be used as motors though google "robotics servo continous rotation" might help.

In about 10 minutes you can modify a servo for continuous rotation. [link=http://www.rccrawler.com/winch.htm]Continuous rotation servo[/link]
