Default weight distribution

how important is weight distribution? it seems like it plays a big part in a cars handling, but then i see almost every shaft drive car having the engine and fuel tank (two heaviest things) on the same side of the car. i have a hpi rs4 3 ss and i was thinking of purchasing the stage D kit for it. its a drifting kit (it comes with D spec tires) but i really want it for the chassis layout.

the new layout puts the engine in the middle of the chassis but keeping it on the same side, making the front/back weight distribution more equal. also, it moves the fuel tank to the other side of the car in the back, making the right/left distribution better.

any opininions on this? here are some pics of the original kit, and hot the kit looks rearranged with the stage D kit. the first pic is my car but ive had it for a while so there is some majot hopups

Weight distrubition is very important in racing but in just bashing and drifting situations it is not really all that important. If your going to be racing competatively then it is prolly best that you do get it but if your not racing competively then it is not needed and I would not spend the money. As I said it is very important in competive raceing but is not as important in drifting as you can counter act the high center and off cent weight with just spring and shock oil along with some slick tires.

I hope this helped.
