i recently got a geat deal to get a kyosho alpha ten 4wd
the only thing wrong with it, when i push down on the starter box, only the flywheel spins. Its loose from the crankshaft i think. Is this a hard thing to fix? Expensive?
What are your thoughts on a kyosho alpha 10?
any flaws?
rants?
praises?
thanks

I cant tell you anything about the vehicle but this is a easy fix. It;s one of two things. Either the clutch nut is loose and you just need to tighten it up or. Or or flywheel collet is bad and you neeed a new one. This is an easy fix and will only take maybe 5 or 10 minutes at the most since your new. n experienced person could have it changed in 2 minutes and back and ready to run. The first onw wont cost you anything but the secound one ill cost you 3 or 4 dollars.

they are pretty fun to drive. they arent super fast but handling is good. my bearing that supports the clutch bell exploded but i doubt its a common problem

well max speed is about 20-25mph stock(these are real world figures not these manufacturer ones). you can put a 2 speed and tuned pipe on(30-35mph). as for the engine upgrade, it uses a three screw configuration which screws directly into the crank case. i dont know of any other engine that uses this except maybe a gx15. i tried putting a .21 i had lying around in it but even after heavily modifying the motor mount i couldnt get it to sit in the chassis.
its not a fast car but it handles like a dream. i just use it when i want to play around.
