I just thought I would post some pics of our track in the making. We have been working on it for about 3 days. Most of the work was on the tabletop turn/tabletop, it alone took 30+ yards of dirt. The jumps are just roughed out now and the burms need more work but it should be done next weekend. I will post a pic once the rest of the track is done.

We finished the track today minus the drivers stand. We had 400ft of 4" corrugated tubing and used 700ft. That stuff adds up. The white tubing for the perimeter was free. If you live in northern California and want to run with us shoot me an email.

I haven't done much of anything.....but the weather isn't so nice here. However, I've been building up some supplies. I've got the lighting assemblies for night time driving....and some scrap wood for repairs/upgrades. Once that weather cooperates, I'll begin the process and post in my forum "Birth of the Backyard Track". Plan to dump and mulch grass clippings into the dirt all year......see if that helps with moisture retention. Plus, I'd like to finish my track wetting system for the other half of the track. Should be interesting! Let you know when I get to it......

This is our track we are TRYING to build at work. We are well on our way to complete it soon. We have more guys at work into 1/8 offroad and our track is underway. It is small for now, just needs some fine tuning and it will be done. I will send more pics.....it just takes time because of the job.

here is my track in crossville, tn. Its has been a work in progress for about 2 years now. We have races aout here about twice a year and have open practice nearly every weekend. The track stays good and smooth during racing due to the amount of racing done on it. I found tht you can kill yourself trying to smooth and groom the track, but the best thing todo is just leave it alone. The reason behind leaving it alone is the GROOVE. Why rake and groom fresh dirt over an already established racing groove? Check out my Track web site at www.rcmountain.spaces.live.com

I really like the hose idea. I figure if you can get 25' hoses from a 99 cent store you can cover a track pretty cheap, or even double up on it so it's easier to see.

we have a new problem on our track. someone with a dirtbike keeps riding on it and causing ruts. also, when it was wet, some kid walked on it and made footprints about 3 inckes deep and now they are rock hard[:@]. pretty soon i think im going to fence the whole track off

but I am going to hopefully put it back together in the spring when the ground thaws out and the snow melts away
