....which I hope you guys can assist with. First of all, let me advise that I've trolled the forum for an answer but with so many posts it was tough, so here goes - I'm sure you can answer it in a flash. My Tamiya TNX which is only about 12 months old and done less than 4 hours - say only 2 at the most, wont bloody start. When I connect the glow plug and then the starter it just makes a very slight nise but will not turn over. I thought it might be the battery so I've charged it overnight and replaced it this morning with a new one which is now on charge, however, can anyone shed some klight on the cause and the remedy iff when I come back to it with a fully charged starter pack, it fails to turnover. Thanks in advance.....

What do you mean by a "very slight noise"?
There a few things which could be wrong....
Flooded engine - remove the glow plug and try turning over the engine. Obviously it won't start, but if it turns over then you know that the engine had flooded and locked up.
Damaged starter - Broken gears, rounded starter shafts etc. Check over the starter. It'll only take 5 mins and that'll eliminate another possibility.
Damaged engine - how did you break it in? If it's damaged in some way it might not turn over. By forcing it you're probably doing even more damage. Strip the engine down and check it!

Great thanks for the prompt assistance - I'll check those now - in the meantime, the engine wont turnover with our without the glow plug. I ran it in as I should and since which time, it's never had a bad knock....I'll let you know in a mo...

There would appear to be a very slight popping noise as if the engine is turning over - could it be that the fuel is old and needs replacing or that there is an air block as there appears to be air in the tubes leading to the carb. What do you think ?

If the engine isn't even turning over it's not the fuel or air in the fuel lines. Are you sure the engine isn't turning over withouth the glow plug? You should be able to see the piston rising and falling when you try to start it if it is. The engine will usually "pop" during every cycle if it is turing over, this is normal.
If it's popping and the piston isn't going anywhere then something in the engine is probably damaged. Take the engine out of the truck and remove the backplate and cooling head - be careful not to get ANY dirt in the engine. You may see a damaged 1 way bearing (if it uses one, not familiar with the starter on the TNX) or a snapped con-rod.

Why is it beyond you?
Not to be a smart ***** here but it's a hobby and that means that things go wrong from time to time. You'll be far better off learning to make repairs yourself than running to the LHS all the time.
As for this particular problem, it sounds like a one way bearing issue to me.
Do a search for that or OWB and do some reading.

I had the same problem with my super start. Come to find out i stripped two of the gears inside of the starter. I found this problem after i had to take it to the hobby shop where they took it off and didnt see find it, so i take it apart after i cant start it and find the stripped gears that the shop should have seen
