Buy lipos now or wait a bit?
I want to upgrade my batteries and I was thinking about lipos. But there are also a few different types of batteries such as emoli and A123 emerging slowly that seem very promising in the future. Should I wait for newer technology to firmly root into the RCs or should I go ahead and get some Mapamps 6000HV?

The A123 seems to be the hot set-up right now. If I had to purchase batts and charger (even though they are expesive) I would buy the batts from A123 and a different brand of charger that supports chargeing them at very fast rate or simply buy a digital power supply (a big one)

theres only one problem i have with a123 LI ions... there 6.6 volts or 9.9, i have the mamba 6900, 6.6 v will be to small and will be slower than my 6 cell Ib 4200. then there the 9.9 which is over what my motor specs are. so for me the battery wont work unless i am mistaken that a 6.6 volt li ion has more power than a 7.2v nimh??

Yea the A123 3.3v per cell is a very big disadvantage. Which chargers are able to charge A123 besides the one from A123 company, incase they get better? Aren't they li-ions??
A123 don't look too promising right now. Werid shape, weird voltage, they're just weird. Their mah rating has gotten better though.
