Default Tuned pipes, what are they made form?

I was thinking of making some part of an rc car for my a level tech. I decided on making a tuned pipe, however i do not know what i could make it from.

Specifically is they a plastic or composite commonly used in the manafacture of tuned pipes?

Normally aluminum and some are steel. Needs to hold some heat. Pipes are more complex then you may think. Here are a few links to help.
