Default De-Annodize? Possible?

Is there any way to strip the goofy annodized coating everyone insists on putting on Alum. parts? But keep a polished finish? Thanks.

I don't know why anyone would want to remove it because it protects the aluminum, but you can polish it off.

You could probably polish it off then re annodize it without a color if you wanted to.

Try soaking the parts in some of the degreasing cleaners like Purple Stuff or Simple Green at full strength. What you are looking for is something with sodium chloride in it. If the concentration is strong enough it will strip it. Then you will have to buff it to get it to shine.

Default works everytime

use drano crystals in cold water let soak for about 10 minutes and that nasty stuff is gone. then you can polish to a high shine. i rinse them off with water and scrub a little to get the black crud off with a 3m scotch brite pad then polish and looks awsome. easiest method i ever used being everthing i put together that is the first thing thatcomes off the nasty coloring of anodize i personally like the metal lokk!!!!!!!!!

good luck
steve

Not "better"... but Different... This board is much more general, instead of just HPI.

You know, there are alot of RS43 and SS people in here... And a handful of NMT (Not very many)... You should show off your wares, People will be very impressed.
