Default Please help!!

Okay so i got this Nitro rc car from a friend. I have no idea what kind it is. Or if its good or what. At first he said it needs a line that goes from the tank to the exhaust. I put some gas in the tank, put in the glow plug and tried to start it but when i pull it, it makes a puttering noise. Im assuming its the compression and its just coming out of the exhaust. (The noise). It sounds like it wants to start but it wont. Does the tube absolutely have to be there from the tank to the exhaust in order to start? It has started for me once but instantly died. It started revving really high and then died out and shut off. Anyways, i dont know the kind of car rc car it is. I believe it is spitting fuel out of the exhaust onto the front right tire. Its all shiny and somewhat wet looking. Dont know if that helps. But here is a picture.

the tube is there to force the fuel into the carb, that is why your buddies engine is sputtering out, try intalling it in, that should do the trick

Yes, it absolutely needs the line from the tank to the tuned pipe. However, unlike calvino, I don't think that will solve all your problems.
If you're spitting raw fuel out the exhaust then you are flooding the engine. The carb needles probably need to be reset and the engine tuned.
If you can find out what kind of car it is and post that up maybe we can help more.
Or you can find a hobby shop near you and take it to them for identification and help.

I hope you didn't pay a lot for it. Used nitro rc's are always a gamble and that one looks like it's been wrecked a couple times.

These cars run on special hobby fuel, not gas.

It should spit a little bit of gas not a lot. Once you get the line on it should start. If not you need to start leaning the needles a little until it dose. The pic you posted dose not work and with a couple of good pics someone should be able to tell you what it is and where to put teh needles for ti to start right up.

No, it should not spit out any "gas".
If you're spitting out fuel then you're too rich.
Once properly running and tuned the exhaust will spit some unburnt oil. That is normal and desirable. But there should never be any raw fuel commng from the exhaust.

+1 That truck looks like someone made a chassis and stuck the drive train to it .

You got done!! lol, I'm only kidding, couldn't resist. Not bad for an old chain and a bb gun. I'm sure it'll be a riot when you get it running. I hope it gives you a taste and spurs you onto better cars in the future.

I got a nitro and sold it. It was way to much matinence for me I am brushless electric now and its alot better 1. No noise to bug neighbors 2. No fumes to make you sick 3. If you put some cash into it a brushless truck can go like 5 times the speed of a nitro.

Thats the thing with electrics, to go as fast as a stock nitro, you need to put in... But lets NOT start a flame war...
