WOW DUDE! I have done similar mistakes... I feel yer pain
Reminds me of the time I gave clothes to the Red Cross Katrina Help and my wife included my jacket that I took off on the drive there because she likes the heat in the car to be more like FIRE. Long story short... My jacket contained my wallet and about $300, license, credit cards and on and on.
Didn't realize till later that night, cancelled my cards and called the Red Cross (closed) went back the next day and the jacket was already shipped off.

They do sort through the trash...for "suspicious" items...at least they do here in N.Y. and I would think they'd be even more so in Ca.?
If you can find out where they take the trash after pick-up you could ask around? Might be worth a few phone calls anyway...
Sorry for making fun of your loss...I wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry...(probably a bit of both ) but I'd be too busy kicking myself in the ***** [][:@]

So I had my Savage X 4.6 in a black plastic trash bag (brought it home from a bash that way to keep my real car clean). And I just set it down in my garage figuring I'd clean it up later. The next morning, I took out the trash, accidentally taking out the bag containing the Savage as well.
By the time I realized, the truck had come and gone.
I'm not really sure whether to laugh or be upset lol

I have one thing to say and that is.................Its gone..
Realise you have made a $$$$ mistake and I am more then sure you have learned from this mistake..
Thats like admitting you left the keys in a Ferrari with the doors open in a High risk area.
We all have moments where our brain processes things incorrectly and unfortunately I have heard of this stuff before only it was the parents who through it out..

DO NOT TELL CARLOS MENCIA!!! You will be on his next DEE DEE DEE show! Dont be to hard on your self it may not have been so expensive but I bet ya almost everyone here has accidentally thrown stuff out. If you have homeowners insurance any chance that will cover it? I know its not a theft but it is still a loss. Just a thought. I feel for you man. Bummer.
