just wondering, when connecting a battery with the tamiya connection up to the traxxas rustlers newer connector, you use these adapters http://imageupload.com/~imageupl/sho...b321b.JPG.html
What im wondering is when using that general setup, does the adapter effect the current flow or the speed or the car in general at all?
thx for the help

The Tamyia connectors are inherently inferior to the high current plugs like the Dean's and Traxxas plugs. So, yes, that adapter can limit current flow. Will you notice a difference in vehicle speed or run times? Probably won't be enough to notice, what you will probably notice is that the Tamyia connector gets warm to hot (depending on it's internal connection and current draw.).
The ideal solution would be to change all the batteries from the Tamyia connection to the Traxxas plug and skip using an adapter.

tamiya connectors have more resistance than Deans or Traxxas connectors. the more resistance, the less current can flow. and if too much current flows, the connectors can actually melt! so i would suggest switching all plugs to Deans or Traxxas. if you are comfortable with soldering, use deans. if you have no experience with a soldering iron, use the new traxxas ones, as they dont need soldering.
you will find that your vehicle feels more "punchy" as a result of lower resistance, switching the connectors is going to be very worth while versus using a temporary adaptor.
