How do you support your habit?
I like hearing what kind of jobs us RC'rs have. I am a contractor for Fed EX. Most people dont know but each fedex ground van is owned and maintained by a contractor. I own 5 vans/routes and that takes up alot of my time, the rest is spent with my family and now....... playing with my toys!! What do you all do????

RE: How do you support your habit?
ahhhh good thread. I've wondered what alot of the adults do for a living. I'm an interesting one...
I've been in the hobby since 1988 and I left college in 1997 to play in my band and signed with Capitol Records in 2001. Spent 5 years touring, touring, touring..... with my Rustler and 2 helis in the bus. Now (and for the past 3 years) I own and operate my own company that manages artists and does media promotions for our artists and other label artists as well.

Yeah i know what you mean, most hobby shops won't even stock cars or parts for pan cars, so its really hard to get new people into it. But actually I'm pretty lucky where I live, I at least have a track to race and some competition to beat. So its not all bad.

RE: How do you support your habit?
I just got started back into the hobby back in November. I was into it back in the mid to late 80's. I work in education and support my hobby with a small slice of my pay I get to use for myslef...that and my tax return, well half of my return.

I have 2 great part time jobs.
The more lucrative one is being an art dealer, and the less lucrative but fun one is designing motors for Baldor.

Well I'm a university student ... currently trying to finish my master at electrical engineering, at systems and automated control sector. Part time jobs come and go... I make some money by designing electrical circuits for different purposes (from house alarms to simple measurment indicators).

I try to limit big expenses to my income tax returns, the rest of the year isn't that expensive because I dont buy more vehicles. You get a fair amount back when you are a full time student.

Working for the County. Supervising crew of 20+ people in electronic and microfilm archival conversion.
But most of my RC collection earned from buying and re-selling on ebay. So wife would not bust my chops for spending hard earned money on RC stuff.

I am an imported and antique lumber broker to construction contractors. When I close a big sale, I buy rc stuff like crazy and then when things are slow I open the boxes and work on the cars. Great stress reliever!

RE: How do you support your habit?
I support my "addiction", habit isnt a strong enough word anymore, by caddying on the weekends.
Its good for about $25-$50 a week towards rc stuff, the rest goes to everything else.
Not having to pay bills makes it so much easier.
