Hello,
I've been out of RC for quite some time and need help picking a brushless motor. I want something that will have a large amount of torque while still packing a punch of acceleration. I know a large part of it is in the gearing and a motor with less winds will accelerate faster, but do winds affect a motors torque/pulling power? I found two systems I am interested in at the time, both of which are from LRP and the Vector brushless motors are more expensive than the Eraser. Is there any difference in the two? I will be using the LRP A.I. no limit esc, so the amount of turns I purchase will not be an issue. It's for an Evader ST Pro. I need help from teh vets who have been here since before I was born.
Thanks, Shredder111[>:]

I don't know about the others here but I would not choose an LRP motor over a Novak, ultimately the Novaks have more options, there are something like 3 different rotors, 'L' and 'R' motors, etc. With brushless you need to be sure to use a brushless ESC, if you want differing winds with a brushless there are no x1 or x4 motors, you just have to tune the motor type and the rotor for more or less torque. Again this is where the Novak 'L' motor or a different rotor comes in.
Be sure it's a brushless ESC, I don't know if the LRP A.I. no limit is a brushless...
As for turns, don't overdo it, it's about RPM and unless you are going for ultimate speed or super acceleration you really only need about 40,000 or 50,000 tops. Many people go out there and buy the lowest turn / highest KV motor right off the bat thinking its the best, but then realise they have to gear it real low or it overheats, for an ST you really want ~6.5 turns tops and no less.

Some of their older brushless motors had bad rotors. Maybe they are better now but still, there are better options out there. Unless they are significantly cheaper than the Novaks there's really no reason to choose it when it comes to the motors. They've got some good ESCs out there but their brushless motors are just very typical and average today. Between the sensored brands you can mix and match, the sensor connector and layout is a standard.

The Eraser is a good sport motor as long as your not looking for absolutely insane power, I've been thinking about getting one. If your looking for a more extreme motor I would suggest the Vector-X11.[sm=thumbs_up.gif]

The esc I am talking about is for brushless. I am getting a LRP because Novak would burn a whole in my pocket in the country Im in. I'm already paying over 80$ extra for the LRP system than I would in the U.S, can you imagine a Novak? That's about $150-$200 overpriced. I am thinking if I should get one Vector or two Erasers, what do you think, you know for backup? I like bashing and some torque and good speed, but the Erasers are almost half price over the Vector. The good thing in this country is that there is a 2 year warranty on everything so lol... It's almost 100% covered if it burns

I've been thinking about getting an LRP for my next brushless too.
I see the "German technology" phrase all over thier site, but does anyone know where they are actually made?
