With large trucks and cars, like a Monster GT, Baja 5b, etc, I'd say yes. However with smaller and lighter cars, like minis and 1/10 onroads, they are just dead weight.

I agree, it depends on the weight of the car or truck. With most vehicles the body alone is stiff enough to protect components in a roll over. With heavier nitros and definitely all gassers, the body is not enough to support the weight of the chassis upside down and a roll cage of sorts should be used. If you have a habit of running without the body on, then some type of rollover protection is always recommended.

Well, if your car and/or truck are flipping due to speed, off road bashing and you want a little extra protection then.. why not?!?! Plus they look great!

i saw one at my lhs for a revo 3.3. they arent too bad but for racing, it would be a good idea to take it off. for bashing, who cares about the weight lol. i mostly want it as a little added protection for my engine.

For the revo, I would highly recomend a wing to protect the engine and mount. The wing will not add a ton of weight and will act as a wheelie bar as well. I have not seen many roll cages that hold up for long on the revo. Go to the monster truck section and post about this topic in the traxxas section and see what people say.

DUDE, that is a deal, well, IMO a wing and maybe a cage would be good, if you bash alot, definatley use the wing and cage, if racing, I don't see it being THAT pratical, my friend got the Tekno wing and wing mount for his revo, and when he flips, the wing does an AWESOME job of protecting the engine and it makes a good wheelie bar

this rollcage is my second ebay purchase. the first was a used tekno wing mount with a proline wing for my revo. the e maxx is going to be a 100% basher. the revo is a novice racer and basher. i dont live close to any racing spots so i just run on my backyard track with my friends and we are far from being professional drivers. the race comes down to whos truck goes the longest without breaking or who can stay on the track longest. its usually me since ive been driving rcs the longest.
