i have a eletric losi desert truck i live in colorado up in the moutains i was wondering wether the altitude had an effect on the speed beacuse when i go down to denver to race with buds it seems to go quite a bit faster any ideas

I highly doubt it, must be some other factor. Nitro and gas engines will need minor tuning adjustments if you change altitude a lot, but I can't see how an electric motor or other electronics would care.
That said, the temperature can affect how batteries charge and discharge, so if the temperature change is severe you might notice a change.

driving a real car in a small road with trees on the side of the road at 50MPH will seem alot faster than driving a car the same speed in a big road with no trees on the side.
