I am looking at getting a nitro monster truck. I was looking at Losi & Traxxas. My local shop ( the only one with 70miles) stocks Traxxas but can get anything, But I am thinking I should stay with Traxxas so I do not have to order any parts. So my question would be either the Revo 3.3 or t-maxx. The guy mentiones that the revo handles and is not as tippsy. Any of you have any input. I have had nitro for the past 12+ years but all on road.

never seen a t-maxx run hard but I'm sure the revo is the better truck...lots of persons say the t-maxx breaks alot and the revo is better in almost every way.

Yes I am just bashing. Have natural drop off in the yard and a alot of sand here, with a 6' drop off. I was looking at Losi Lst2 but the guy doesn't carry it in stock. That is one reason of going to Traxxas.

If you can only get Traxxas stick with the Revo.. T-Maxx is outdated but was good for what it was, had many fun hours with one.
Why don't you order online? That's were I get most of my R/C related products (besides fuel).

He has pretty good prices. the revo 3.3 is $420 in cash. beats alot of online places. Plus I would like to get parts if I need them. If I went with Losi is the aftershock also a good truck or only the LST. The LST2 is kind of pricey, but has a great remote

I personally would buy and After Shock.. I have a Revo, but an After Shock would be better IMO.
It's up to you, either way you'll get a good truck.

Granted, teh Revo will be $75 or more expensive than T-Max, but trust me, it is well worth it. Once you are tired of bashing, you can take it to teh track and race.

here is the million dollar quetion between lst2 & revo 3.3, which one is better built, easier to work on. Has a good selection of aftermarket parts, etc.
I am pretty mechanically inclined. Built a few car engines and have a 600hp chevelle. So doing the work is not a problem , but want a quick turn-a-round on down time.

For me, I find teh Revo a little easier to work on due to everything being in easy reach. But teh LST is not that hard to work on too, so in reality, they might be just as easy to work on equally.
As for Revo, I think the Revo has more aftermarket hop-ups hands down. I think that is a direct function of the poplarity of Traxxas and Revo trucks, so just about everyone has made hop-up options for teh Revo.
Dont get em wrong, Losi has a very wide selection of hop-ups too, I just think that Revo has a little more.

Now I heard that the lst2 had some problems with the trans. mostly because of reverse. Is this true? the only thing that the lst2 has is a real good remote also. If I went withthe revo 3.3 what would be a good radio with it. I would run it with the radio it came with and would put money into upgrades for now. we have about a foot os now on the ground here and do not htink I would be running it anytime soon. Looking mid feb. at this point

And the LST2 Tranny is the Best Tranny of ANY MT's out there....Never ever had a problem with Reverse in the past 5 years ....(Just make sure to Set the EPA on the Radio for the Revere Servo
as Lots of Newb's don't check simple stuff like that and it'll slip in between gears & seem like it's in Neutral)No Plastic Gears to Strip

So then it is a toss up. Traxxas and Losi are both great MT. THe lst2 has a bette remote, but i read somewhere that the hub hex is 20mm and is harder to find aftermarket rims, not like i care much but like to leave that open. I guess I have thinking on which one to choose. Thanks al of you for your input

It uses 8mm Buggy/Truggy Sized Axles, So you can Change the Hex to whatever Size you like, I got some 20mm Hex's/ 17mm hex's and 23mm hex's......(I do like the Losi 420 wheels though as they are Cheap)
So you can Run Pretty much Any Wheel & Tire combo you like, hex's are Cheap
Here's a Link to the Main Size Peeps use,
17mm,
