Saturday afternoon Baja 5T bash (videos)
Took the 5T out today, it's all stock right now. I have a new pipe but I haven't installed it yet. Unfortunately the still shots came out pretty poorly due to some camera settings that were off, but you get the idea. I'll upload some videos in a bit.
Here are some mediocre videos.
Today was definitely a poor day for multimedia in this household.

Nice to see your 5T running there, Sheo!
I noticed that your clutch is engaging a bit sooner. Does yours have the 8000 RPM clutch spring?
(I have the same problem with my FG MTs, I need to put on tighter springs to give a crisper launch).

Yeah it's bone stock.
I'm meaning to buy a new engine and Elcon clutch for it anyway, so I'm not concerned.

Ah, good point. The Elcon does coat over a hundred USD, so I totally see your reasoning. Get a good engine, modded, and goof pipe, and then the Elcon clutch too!

Thanks for sharing... Man that thing looks sweet when its hauling. The pipe isn't very noisy either. That 5B_SS pipe is just too much for me. I am going back to the can to quiet mine down. 5T's are just friggen sweet.

Wow, that car isn't to loud in the videos, i remember being at RCX and HPI was doing a demo, man their 5BSS pipe was PAINFULLY loud (yes louder than the NITROS!). Can't wait for some onboard with flycam 2

They're bouncier than smaller scale trucks generally, the physics become more akin to full scale off road vehicles. You can adjust the shocks though, but I like the bouncy trophy truck feel.

It feels a lot more realistic, they're heavier and react to the terrain more realistically. Much more thrilling [&:]

Driving these is way different
As they get larger the stopping distance increases and the weight of the thing makes it kinda crazy at times.
Just remeber if you run into yourself with one of these things its going to hurt alot worse then even an 1/8 scale monster like the LST or something of that size.

I can't wait to try mine
Stupid winter
next year it will see some snow action cause it will be all broken in and I don't have to stand out in the cold and freeze.
When I was younger I was more into that now it's just too cold.

Looks fun! I am ready to run my 5b some more this spring and smell some good ole klotz . I like the 5t idea, but I wish they had made the shell a bit wider to come out and cover the wheels etc that's my only gripe with it. I am with savagejim, My 5bss has too high of a stall speed too I'm thinking. I've heard alot say you can reverse the clutch shoes and it launches on alot less rpms. I would honestly rather it just bog some on the takeoff than to sit there having to rev the motor high and then it taking off like a shot lol. Are there any tricks to make the brakes work better? My brakes on mine only worked for a few runs, they pretty much do nothing at all now.

Awesome vids! This guy I know that has a 5b the thing was so loud I couldnt hear the person next to me speak. But he had it modded out.
Muffler and all. The 5T looks like it has more ground clearance than the 5B.

It has the same ground clearance - which is adjustable. I have mine set to pretty much the highest, but you can do that on a 5B as well.
