RE: post pics of your work area
One of the few pics I have. One of the things I like about this setup is I have 2 benches, 1 for RC projects (cars/planes/heli, whatever) and a separate bench for electronics projects. I find good lighting is key. I have good overhead lighting, and also additional lighting under the shelf that is over each work bench. This way you are never working under your own shadow. Living in AZ having good air conditioning is also key so I can work out here year round.
The benches are just some solid doors from home depot cut to size with a circular saw (~$40). I use some ready made fence posts for legs, though I have also made my own. On top of each bench I have a 1/8" sheet of pressed particle board with a glossy surface, just like dry erase board. These cost about $7.50 and form a great disposable surface that can get all cut up etc. while protecting the actual table underneath from any real damage. Every couple years I get a new piece to cut and put on top. Not shown in this pic, but I also have a series of those little plastic parts bins mounted to the wall beside the rc bench. These are great for keeping all the bits and pieces organized and readily available. Sure beats the random shoe box system I used to use I need to get a couple decent stools, and then I should be fairly set.
For what it is worth,
Spiro

Here's a few pictures of my RC area.
I didn't think I would ever run out of space, but here it is just a few years later, and I'm just about out of space, lol.

Haha, the sad part is I think I have more HPI parts than ALL of my local hobby shops combined, lol. That's why tower hobbies is my best friend
Finally got me a banner for my basement too!

I'd love to have that kind of space. I have a decent work area but space is limited, since I own lots of vehicles (many of them 1/5, as well as large gas boats) I could use the space.

I love looking at all your shops...This is mine. It will have to do till I get around to building a shed in the back yard. It's my half of the garage, my truck sits in the driveway.
I had to put in some new electrical in the garage to make sure I had enough juice for the bench. Hardwired the light in, and have 2 powerstrips (one on each side). It still a work in progress, I have a rolling toolchest right behind the chair that all my hand tools are so I can turn around and grab what I need.
