Default Car Not Responding, What Could It Be?

Hey guys, having some problems with the car, and came here to see if you could help. Well, this past summer the car was running great. Until one day, I turned on the transmitter, and then the car would not move. After about 10 sec. though, it moved and ran fine. Then, it did it again, but for 1 min then it would go. Now it is to the point where it wont even go at all. I noticed the esc light blinking when it usually stays solid red, but I couldn't imagine it being that.

In the manual, there is a section that tells you how the radio signal is transferred to the car. It goes: vehicle-transmitter-receiver-steering servo-electronic speed controller-battery-steering system-motor- differential system-transmission system.

My idea was the receiver. I just hope it is not the steering servo or esc, since it seems like a real bear to do. At least the receiver is a piece of cake, at least from what I see.

So now that brings me to my question, what do you guys think is the problem. It's getting annoying not being able to use the car. It runs great once it gets going though, this is the only thing holding me back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

-Joe

Does the steering work?

If so, I'm going to say its the ESC.

If not, then perhaps the receiver.

Look in your ESC manual and see what the blinking light means. It may be a thermal shutdown, or a low battery, which would cause your ESC to shut off power to the entire car, and then turn it back on once it's cooled off or it thinks the battery is no longer low...

No. The steering does not work. the car just sits their doing nothing.

I hope its the receiver at minimum since its easy to change.

I did actually see that in the manual. The thing possibly could be confused, although I really hope not.

Thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it. I will possibly look forward into the receiver.

Check all the connections, make sure there is nothing loose, even the crystals. (if you are still using crystals)

Check battery power. Car battery & transmitter battery. Improperly stored batteries could be damaged.

Do you have other cars, or spare RC systems. I would check each component with on another car or spare components to do the process of elimination and find out which component is bad.

Why would be be soo hard to get to the esc or steering servo anyway? All you have to do is take off a few screws I assume.

I actually checked all the connections with a volt meter. Then made sure they were in right.
Check battery power. Car battery & transmitter battery. Improperly stored batteries could be damaged.
The car battery is at 7.35 volts, and its a 7.2 volt so I think that's fine. The transmitter battery's were pretty much brand new when this started to happen, so it couldn't have been that. If I do still have the problem I will have to replace them I guess.

I do have other RC cars, but nothing that would fit the bill for the Tornado. Although I got a receiver on the way from Redcat right this second. Ordered it Friday, assuming it should be here Tuesday or Wednesday, if not Thursday, no rush. Coming down from AZ.

Well, after looking it over more closely I realized its not too hard, unplug the connector from the receiver, then remove it from the sticky pad, although its on there tight. The Servo is harder though because where they put it, once you unscrew the seven screws, you cant just pull it up, since the aluminum upper plate is there. You have to try to some how finagle it around and up.
