brushed motor question

I will try my best to describe this problem. The shaft of the motor where the pinion gear attaches is moving around quite a bit. Not just the standard in and out, but actually side to side. It looks like at the opposite end of the motor by the brushes a small piece of plastic broke off. It still works in the car, but makes a little noise. It is a Reedy Radon motor (stock on TEam Associated T4). Any suggestions on the issue.
The way it looks I might be in the market for a new brushed motor ( I am not going brushless yet). Suggestions on brand, turns, pinion/spur set up, etc. Thank you in advance.
