RE: Help with beginner (somewhat)
I'm kind of leaning toward nitro due to me liking to tinker with engines. But I'm wanting some recommendations for kit cars and accessories. Anybody have any on what I should buy. I'm going to go with 1/8 scale and probably a monster truck or something like that.

RE: Help with beginner (somewhat)
I'll probably go with 1/8 if I can. Just wanting to go with a kit so I can build it myself. Just want some recommendations on what brand and truck to go with such as team associated, hpi, etc.

RE: Help with beginner (somewhat)
I like HPI for nitro's
1/8th The Savage X SS is a un-assembled kit its shipped with a K4.6 engine. I'd ebay the K4.6 and buy a F4.6(heard its a good engine), LRP 30, or something else seeing the K4.6 is a poor quality engine (I talk from experience I own a K4.6)
And seeing its a kit you will also need your own radio and servo's
The Savage X RTR is shipped with all electronics, servo's, and an AM radio (HPI AM radios are pretty decent I find). Its only issue is most people say the steering servo's weak and swap out a better servo in its place and bump the stock steering servo to throttle and brake control due to its higher torque.
1/10th HPI MT2
MT2 G3.0 is RTR has HPI's G3.0(.18) engine included, Radio and servo's all included
MT2 SS is a un-assembled kit form with a HPI .18ss engine included, no radio, no servo's, no power switch, and will need a battery pack
G3.0 I think has a tad bit more torque than the 18ss

Yeah narrowed it down to either associated or hpi I think. Probably go with nitro and a kit, but not sure on electronics yet. I am looking at monster trucks mainly, I have looked at the traxxis also.

Associated or HPI, easy, get the Associated.
Will last longer and handle better.
If your looking at Traxxas, what are you looking at, cause they dont do truggies.
A E-Revo ?
Nitro revo ?
l would get an Associated over a nitro revo, but an E-revo over the Associated, all a matter of opinion for ya !

RE: Help with beginner (somewhat)
Thanks man, I'm not an expert on rc cars. But I'm not familiar with hot bodies and all the engines. How big on the nitro engines can you go? I like building bigger engines and such. I'm not sure a stadium truck is what I'm really looking for, something a little bigger such as monster truck? I like team associated but I will take advice from anyone that knows their stuff. I know I want to go with nitro but do you like associated stuff or just too high? I would love to save some money. Keep it coming, let me know.

RE: Help with beginner (somewhat)
What do you guys think of the Associated MGT 8.0 RTR monster truck? Still would like info on that stadium truck vs. a monster truck. Thanks. I want good electronics and such, thats the reason I'm thinking of going kit also.
