I was thinking they should put nitrous bottle in RC but in a different way than real cars.
They should put the end facing the back then when you push a button on your radio a servo some how unscrews the end and the nitrous flies out giving the RC a boost.
This would work different than NOS from a real car.
It might work becasuse my friend has a bottle of nitrous for his paintball and he said he unscrewed the end and the nitrous bottle flew out of his hand and flew and smashed the wall. so it could make your car have so much boost.

JUST AN IDEA

It actually Nitrogen or Compressed air. I play paintball.

4500 PSI external PSI is about 800. That car would be movin pretty fast but it would problably do a back flip from the weight of the bottle

Someone should really build one but no one the screws on and off they should just have brackets that the nozzle goes into then a little blocker is elctronic so hwhen you press the button the little blocker goes up and it allows the nitrous to burst out then you let go of the button and the bloceker goes down and covers the nitrous bottle.
THAT WOULD BE SWEET

Just use Co2 canisters for BB guns. There alot cheaper than Nitrous and the put out alot of pressure when released all at once. The only problem would be finding a way to open them on an r/c car.We made Co2 cars in school once and they screamed. They were alot smaller of course but it's still the same concept.

Yes it was actually the C02 for his paintball that smashed into the wall if its cheap use that but u could use a strong servo that moves up and down up being out of the way of the co2 and letting it rush and getting speed from the pressure locked inside then down blocking the co2's pressure from running

Hey,I been thinkin about this too but a little different.Puncturing a CO2 cartridge for boost is a little overboard maybe.I like your description of a "valve", that was a pretty interesting way to put it. Back to the Nitrous....... JAG RC is pretty shady lookin to me,no pics, one page site...Yeah,I wanna send em money First thing I would wonder is will a glow plug burn Nitrous? I would have to guess that it will because you can blow nitrous through a lit cigarette and get a 2 inch white/blue flame from the tip. That is not open flame, plus the cumbustion of the nitro would help.Assuming it burns and gets along with the nitro, you could do it but it will surely run hotter so you'd have to control that some way...great thing about nitrous is when you uncompress it it gets really cold Now for setting it up on a car,I know everyone is picturing a whipped cream charger as a tank and so am I...perfect size. You'd need to be able to puncture it and pressurize a line so youd need some bb gun parts for that. Then you'd need a ball vavle to control the flow with the throttle servo and make it proportional to the carb.If ya get that far all youd need to do is run the line to the air intake on your car,I'd make an intake tube and tap a barb fitting in the side but angled down with the air flow. This would force really cold, highly explosive nitrous in the engine and it might just work really well.

how long do u think your engine will last before send the piston through the head or make it detonate sening shrapnel everywhere. plus your engine would run extremly lean so u would have to richen it somehow a normal engine run
@ 1 part oxygen to 16 part fuel i think so with nitro u probally would be getting it up to 10:16!!!! personally i think that sticking a couple of D size rocket engines on the back with an electronic switch would be more benificial not to mention lighter!!

Yeah,damn....richen it.If only there was some kind of little screw to do that, it might work.

dude nitrous is a dead issue....just buy yopurself a high performance engine and you will be blazing past anyone you know.

before you get to far involved with all this nitrous crap, why dont you engineers design something useful like fuel injection or rf mixture needles.
how about you guys design some way to allow your radio to display your engines temp?
thats good stuff. nitrous is for guys who cant afford real horsepower.....in real cars and in r/c.

I have an rc10gt and I used to run the blue gas and my Dad had some for his plane and he is getting a trainer so he gave his pink stuff to me can I use that for my rc10gt or not?

it'll do between 65 and 85 mph depending on prop/pipe length/fuel used. for heat racing you need acceleration so race setup is about 65 to 75 mph. i've stuffed it many times and it keeps on tickin. hitting a bank will hurt though

Buy a bigger engine is all I hear.... what if you've already got a bigger engine and so do all your friends and you need something else? What if you just like doing something different?Maybe then,"buy a better engine" isn't gonna work.

william. my above post was referring to the boat pictured above. prop=propeller

as for the fuel you got from your dad, the pink stuff.... don't use it in a gas car. it doesn't have enough lubricant. make sure you use fuel that's made for rc cars. good luck

as far as a NOS system for a nitro motor, that has been tried long ago.

making the nitrous oxide injection system is the easy part. simply use a small NO2 cylinder thats used for making whipped cream or "whippets". they look exactly like co2 cartridges for BB guns, but you get them at chef supply stores. they are filled with nitrous oxide.... NOS. then a small solenoid valve and spraybar into the throat of the carburetor activated by a third channel on your transmitter.

the problem is the increased need for lots of additional fuel to burn with the nitrous. nitrous is a source of concentrated oxygen to burn the additional fuel you add at the same time as the nitrous oxide. without the additional LARGE amount of necessary fuel flow injected at the same time as the nitrous, you go either boom or nowhere.

just my 2 cents. and these JAG guys are blowin smoke men.

as you say a proper nos setup has extra fuel injtected simultaniously...or it runs very very lean. Guess the engine would need to be set really rich...probably so rich it won't run without nos....whats the point. NOS on big cars is cool, but the complication and extra weight required...make it pretty pointless in my opinion. Might be fun trying to do it...but only for the sake of a techniocal challenge

now if you want to experiment with something that will DOUBLE your horsepower for a bit, try adding a SMALL amount of propylene oxide to your fuel. by small i mean about a 2% addition to your regular fuel. more than that and you'll definitely go boom. i can't recommend doing this, but i know it has been, and still is done in small nitro motors. propylene oxide is a liquid fuel additive that full-size dragsters use. it will add an enormous power boost at the cost of enormous wear to your engine. and no compressed gas or injection system is necessary, you just pour it right in the nitro fuel mix. . but man what a sight to behold! zoooooooooom hehe lol

OK how about this.

Instead of nitrous... have a shot of propane.. just like diesels!

Or just pure oxygen! IT'd be cool to have a little actuator in a bottle that releases the contents (1 SHOT). So just when your competitor thinks he has one.. BAM.. your first and you can win

Well heck its an idea anyway! lol
