I was driving my T-Maxx yesterday and I lost site of it for a moment. Next thing I knew it was in a creek. The engine finally died I think from H2O in the carb. It could have been that it was blocking the exhaust too but...at any rate, what is the best thing to do to protect the engine? I took the head off and put a ton of after run in the head and in the carb and cranked it for quite a while. Is that sufficient? Should I break down the entire thing?
Thanks,
Kodiak

Since it still cranks, you should be ok. Generally speaking, when water enters the carb and makes it's way to the combustion chamber, that's a bad thing. You can cause all sorts of damage to the rod, crankshaft and other internal parts because the water cannot be compressed or burned off in the combustion chamber.
As a safety precaution, you may want to open it up and at the very least, inspect the internals for damage.

good job? who?
im sur eit dried out by now, but next time
dont let the water beads dry up in there. open it asap and dry it out with air/cleaner/etc because they leave deposits and stuff behind. like when you let wtaer dry on your real cars paint.
the metal used inside the engine doesnt liek water at all, and like dagass said open it up and see what it looks like. if it dont like smooth you might be in for a rebuild or new engine.
