RE: NEW GUY NEEDS HELP SELECTING
I will say no more, you havn't owned any traxxas but diss them all the time, that is cool that you actually have driven them n stuff. I just can't stand hearing you bash traxxas all the time, but i'll let it go. I just can't stand seeing people diss on what they don't have, how would they know what it is?? People used to diss my GTI all the time, and they were drivin some rusty nissan stanza...im in a brand new modified gti and they were talkin crap, so this thread reminds me of it...ive got a bad problem with people rating what they don't know anything about...but you do know a little i guess. If you don't like them, don't talk about how outdated they are and this and that, you havn't put more than a tank of gas through a traxxas product.....i stand at rest. I don't rate any savages, warheads, hellfires, i just say what i have heard about them, i don't ever say "they are junk" because i have no idea.

RE: NEW GUY NEEDS HELP SELECTING
Seriously me saying they are outdated isnt an opinion though, it's a fact! Many of those vehicles have been in production for over four years. I just feel they were great back a few years ago, and are still ok for beginners, but there is other options then traxxas. For beginners the Duratrax line is a great way to start. I do feel the revo/jato are pretty good, but that is their latest technology. If they would discontinue their entire old line-up and create a whole new set of vehicles to go with the revo/jato, I wouldnt bash It like I do.

RE: NEW GUY NEEDS HELP SELECTING
so they made a few improvements to an already awsome machine? why is that so bad, they need to retain thier share of the market. With other companies putting out new rc's with more powerful engines they better do the same or they wil be left in the dust. Literaly.

RE: NEW GUY NEEDS HELP SELECTING
well lets say the T Maxx is a great bashing RC...for those of us who don't race professionally, it's a great buy.

RE: NEW GUY NEEDS HELP SELECTING
Even if your not racing it seems that the revo is definatelty worth the extra $100 compared to the t-maxx.
|
RE: NEW GUY NEEDS HELP SELECTING
ya its down to the REVO 3.3 or the LST2
|
RE: NEW GUY NEEDS HELP SELECTING
I'd go with the LST2, i've never owen either one, but i have yet to see a bad review of LST2. I read bad reports of Traxxas stuff every other day.

RE: NEW GUY NEEDS HELP SELECTING
Hey:
I would seriously look at the T-Maxx 3.3. The new engine is super powerful, and traxxax made some major imporvements to the chassis and drivetrain, borrowing revo parts. The truck's a bargain. I would stay away from the hellfire if it'd be your only truck. During testing many things broke, and the truck is not that fast. I'd definitely look most seriously at the t-maxx and revo 3.3's |
RE: NEW GUY NEEDS HELP SELECTING
Which nitro truck would be better, a MGT 4.6, a Mammoth ST, or a MT2 .18 SS? I'm looking at all of them and I want some suggestions!
|
RE: NEW GUY NEEDS HELP SELECTING
Also, is the X-Cellerator any good? They're cheap so I'm thinking of that too.
|
RE: NEW GUY NEEDS HELP SELECTING
The MGT is a monster truck, the 18ss is a stadium truck. For offroad capability get the MGT, for speed and handling get the 18ss.

RE: NEW GUY NEEDS HELP SELECTING
I own a Revo 2.5r & the only thing this truck needs is more juice, the 3.3 should do the job fine , nice little 3 port, good bottom grunt (where its needed with this truck) and a cheap motor upgrade for guys like me with the older engine.
suspension articulation is top notch with this truck also, I've dropped mine to the Hellfires profile in three minutes & then back up for terrain bashing in three more ;) & if you want more you can go with the long travel arms & stiffer springs to rock crawl. Now when talking engines between the Revo & Hellfire , this is apples & oranges as the Revo is either a .15 (older version) or a .20 (new 3.3) Vs. the .28 (Nitro Star K4.6 HO engine) so ya.. safe to say out of the box the Hellfire is going to be a faster truck, personally I've been eyeballing an RB .28 5 port w/tuned exhaust for my truck, though I'm told I'll be going through a tranny a month if I don't do the forward only conversion. Can't tell ya anything about the LST2 though it looks good, if not a bit plain out of the box, personally I would stay away from the savage or anything with a high center of grav as rollovers are common with bashers & that can be a long walk... Sidenote: My local hobby store guy has a Revo & has been raving about it for the last six months, tons of upgrades including a Sirio 9 port (sorry no idea what size). He recently assumed ownership of one of the stores floor model Hellfires, popped in an Axial .32 and has decided to sell his Revo... he just loves the Hellfire, and I have to say though I love my Revo, if I was buying a truck today I would without a doubt buy the Hellfire also, primarily because its a damn hot looking truck with plenty of stink right out of the box, either way though you can't go wrong. |
