taken from a spec on the R203HF
"FM/HRS(High Reponse System) Version - The 3PK's transmitter can operate in FM, PCM or HRS mode. In HRS mode, the transmitter sends out signals at twice the rate of typical FM systems—a fact which makes the 3PK the only system on the market which can take full advantage of the speed and accuracy of digital servos. Needless to say, the 3PK is equipped with the only receiver capable of processing data arriving at that rate: the R203HF"
is PCM a dif type of TX m8 ?

PCM is a different transmitter. Most good radios run on FM. The 3PK runs on FM, PCM, HRS, like you say. My radio is a 3PB wich runs on PCM or FM with a switch. I mainly use the R113IP reciever but have a Novak mercury FM reciever for backup. Futaba are the only ones with PCM and HRS technology. I think the HRS stuff is bucks. I really can't see a delay in the steering with my eyes. So I don't think the HRS is needed. spend the money on other goodies

pcm stands for pulse code modulation it gets less interferance than fm, hrs is to take advantage of digital servos the 3pk has several funtions to take advantage of this it bascialy makes the servos responed faster and also you can make them do things you cant normally do with fm

The Futaba T3PK manual goes more into the different modulation types and HRS requirements. The Futaba T3PK manual, along with numerous other manuals, can be viewed and downloaded at the following link.

No problem. Enjoy the reading material. I think I read the manual 2 or 3 times before even trying to set up the Futaba T3PK and still refer to it.
