spektrum problems

I recently bought the DX3 with the two receivers. The range on both SUCK. I might have 100' of range on a good day. I thought maybe just one receiver was bad, but this morning tried the 2nd one, and its just as bad, if not worse. My friends stock traxxas TQ3 or whatever was flawless compared to my $250 system.

Well, if the range sucks, it must be the transmitter.
Did you buy it new or used? If you still have a warranty on it, contact HorizonHobbies. If not, take the screws out and follow the wire to the little groove it should go on, and take it off and then snap it back on.
You may need a new antenna, like this one:
