This is just what I needed. Thanks!

Before you start painting sand the surface down with a light grit sand paper. Sanding the surface down will help you base coat stick nicely. Wash the body down and then lay thin even coats of primer, I would use atleast two coats. Lay your base color down which is yellow. Then mask off the area you want to two tone using blue painters tape, I have tried regular masking tape before but it has more stick to it so I prefer painters tape. Your gonna wanna do about two to three coats of paint for each step only spraying light coats and allow proper time to dry between each respray. Depending on the temperature if it is warm and dry two hours between sprays is probably good. I would let the bas coat sit atleast over night before doing the second color to assure the tape you use for masking doesn't lift any paint off during removal. Final step after you have applied all your stickers would be to lay two coats of clear coat over everything. You could probably skip this step but it just makes sure your stickers won't peel off and give everything a finished look. I also use Tamiya masking tape which works best but costs more.

I have a question on painting the Lunch Box. I plan on a two-tone paint job of Yellow (primary color) and Orange (secondary color). My question is technique related. My plan is to paint the whole box yellow with several coats. Once dried over several days, mask and cover the areas I want to remain yellow and spray several coats of orange.
Question, what is the best type of masking tape to use in order to do this? What I don't want to happen is to have the masking tape peel the yellow paint off when I remove it. Nore do I want masking residue when I remove the tape.
Any advice?
I did a search on this and the result was over 6000 threads. So it's easier for me to ask the question rather than search through a possible 6000 threads.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Well, she's coming along. I had to use the stock Tamiya motor for now since my Traxxas Titan 12.5T was to long (it rubbed on the tire). The rear shocks are from my Slash and work just fine. However, I may have to cut down on the shock spring. That will likely happen after she's all together and goes for a test run or two.
Electronics installed and the car is running just fine (at least as far as being functional).
To my dismay, one of the body mounts broke. This isn't from an impact, it's from puting the body on. I suspect the tub was weak as it broke very easily. Anyone suggestions for a fix?

When I first saw this I thought. silly, but after building the kit and seeing how horrible the springs worked, decided to do this myself :-)
Question, what kind of shock is that?

Oh, I now only have the shock in there, without the spring.. I thought with the spring it made the rear end too stiff... and basically I just wanted the shock to absorb the shock when you pull the throttle, so it works out nicely..

We do a lot of silly stuff around here...
That's a standard Tamiya CVA shocks for its touring cars..
The pic you posted is the initial setup. Currently I don't run spring on that 3rd shock, just the oil damper.

So, that would be the following shock?

And yeah, it would make sense just to run the dampener. I imagine running the spring would make it a bit bouncy.

Actually, it is the mini shocks, I think..

The one you listed is actually the shocks for the 4 wheels of LB..

I'd like to get a decal sheet with alpha and numerical characters. This is to replace the "Vanessa" with another name. I've searched a few online hobby shops and most seem to only have brand specific sheets. Any idea where I might be able to pick something like this up?

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Thanks. I actually already did that but didn't find anything. I really dislike Tower Hobbies due to the fact it takes them several days to actually ship items. When I pay for priority I want the shipment in under a week. Guess that's what happens when you become as big as they are.

Eman, I took a look at the LB chassis tonight, and it looks like it won't fly...
It has plenty of room and has the clearance for the hump, but since the battery slides into its place, instead of going up and close up a battery door, the hump will get in the way when you try to slide the battery in..
Unless you just built the battery into the chassis when you are building the kit.. and just charge it there.. ha! (well, it is not so bad, a few screws, and you can take the battery out.. )

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Hmm, interesting - thanks for checking. As you know, I'd like to get a LB for my son this summer. I only have 1 6-cell pack that I'll be sharing between Durga and DT02, and my LiPos will be in the E-Sav. The only other pack I have lying around is a 7 cell hump. I would be ok with "build it into" the chassis of the LB, since it would be pretty much dedicated for that vehicle anyway. Interesting option.

I'd like to get a "stock, brushed" motor for my lunch box. Something a bit faster than the stock motor but not uncontrolable. Any recommendations?

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
I can't believe the SuperStock RZ is $42 now - I got it for $36. It's only a $6 jump, but hey, that's like 20%! $42 for a 23T motor is a bit rough.
